Product Description

Graco Classic Ride 50 Convertible Car Seat

Enhanced Essentials

Graco’s Classic Ride 50 Convertible Car Seat offers enhanced essential features that help keep your growing child—from 4 lbs. to 50 lbs.—safe. This car seat is designed to help protect rear-facing infants from a tiny 4 lbs. all the way up to 40 lbs. and forward-facing toddlers from 20 – 50 lbs. and up to 40” tall. It easily suits your child as he / she grows and transitions from rear-facing to forward-facing. The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends that children be rear facing until age 2, and the Classic Ride 50 makes it easy to do that with a 40 lb. upper weight rating for rear-facing.

Protection for Tiny Ones

Because of the low 4 lb. start weight, the Classic Ride 50 Convertible Car Seat is ideal for smaller babies, so that the tiniest passengers in your car are protected.

Safety Features For Your Child

The Classic Ride 50 is designed to help keep your precious growing little one safe. This seat has been engineered and crash tested to meet or exceed standards, including:

  • U.S. Compliance Standard FMVSS 213
  • Side Impact Tested for Occupant Retention by the harness system
  • New Car Assessment Program (NCAP) – peak Crash Force approximately 2x Car Seat Standard
  • Extreme Car Interior Temperatures to ensure material integrity under extreme temperature conditions

It also features EPS energy absorbing foam for effective impact energy management.

Support They Need

As your child grows, their needs change. For little ones, the Classic Ride 50 features a cozy head support, specially designed to keep your baby comfortable. Then, as your child grows and needs more room, the infant head support conveniently removes to make your toddler comfy.

LATCH It

The Classic Ride 50 is LATCH-equipped with an easy-to-read level indicator. It makes installation in the rear-facing position hassle-free, which as a mom, you’ll love!

Harnessed In

Safety is key, so the 5-point, front-adjust harness keeps your baby snug and secure and since it’s “front-adjust” it’s easy to get baby in and out.

Never Ride Thirsty

The conveniently placed cup holder is just right for holding your child’s sippie cup or water bottle, always keeping his / her essentials at arm’s reach.

Buzz-Worthy Style

Gender-neutral style is all the rage for new moms, so Boyton is just perfect. Rich black and gray solids are accented by sweet yellow piping make it just right for little girl or boy passengers.

Classic Ride 50 Convertible Car Seat easily transitions from rear- to forward-facing to grow with your child.

Our family car is a 2011 Honda Accord and one of the benefits is a large interior. This car seat doesn't hog the entire backseat (like the Costco one my mom bought from Target for her Jetta). I was pleased to see that our daughter, now 14 months, sits comfortably rear facing. I made the mistake of giving her a juice box, which of course she squeezed out everywhere. It was a few weeks before I got the motivation to tackle the job of removing the cover and tossing it in the wash. When I finally did it washed out without any pre-treating and I followed the instructions and allowed it time to hang dry. We had the local fire station install the car seat for us, so I was hesitant to remove it and get it back in safely for our daughter. By the way the fire station used a pool noodle that was cut into thirds to fill the gap between the base of the car seat and the actual seat. I thought that it was incredibly ingenious. No wiggly rear facing install for our baby girl. Anyways the car seat was a pain in rear to remove and re install, but isn't that the point? You want something that is going to be secure. Overall we both like the way it looks, how it fits in our back seat, how easy it is to wash, how secure it stays, and how it is comfortable enough for our daughter to take a nap on a long drive.

I bought this carseat for my 16 month-old who was getting too big for her infant seat, but still not big enough to front face. This seat was difficult to install using the latch system, until I finally watched a YouTube video. The video shows to peel back the cover and pull the latch strap to the inside of the seat while rocking it side-to-side to tighten the Latch system. Worked like a charm and the seat is tightly installed now! If this detail would have been in the instructions, wouldn't have had any trouble.

It's big and bulky, but I'm okay with that because it feels sturdy. It's hard to install, but that's fine because it means it's safe. What got me is that it never sat securely. I've had 5 children and only my Gracos have ever wobbled. So today after cleaning out the car I downloaded the manual to see if there were more hidden legs or something. The problem is that the little "level" ball on the seat never really sat in the safe zone if the seat was secure. Graco's solution? Roll up a towel and tuck it underneath the seat. What? No joke. Page fifteen of their user manual has a picture of a towel! How about adding some more legs? Sheesh. I won't buy another Graco if that's how they roll.

Unsafe
This is absolutely the most unsafe rear facing car seat I have ever seen. Impossible to install tightly... even after finding a way to use my feet pressing against the seat, and my hands to tighten the belt... even after using "rolled towels" as instructed by the owners manual. This seat in the rear position can easily be pushed from side to side, and in a rear end collision would flip back up against the back seat. I'm amazed that there are any positive reviews for this seat. I would love to see a video of this seat properly installed, and tight enough not to jiggle around.

We really like our Graco carseat for our daughter. I have a smaller vehicle and it works great both rear facing and forward facing now. the color is good to hid little stains and removing to wash was pretty simple. Very easy to get baby in and out of as well.

I bought this car seat to use for my grandchildren. It is easy to get the kids in the car seat and they seem comfortable in it. I gave it four stars because it is a little difficult to install and remove the bottom tethers. My husband has to help me install and remove the car seat.

The strap to secure the seat to the car is an absolute PAIN! For rear facing it is so hard to adjust it to the correct length and have it be secure. It wobbles back and forth unless you put something underneath AND get the strap right. Once in correctly it is awesome, my son loves it. But we have to switch vehicles all the time and it takes at least 10 minutes every time to install, longer if you don't know what you are doing. It is possible to install it for it to be safe, but buy something else if you can afford it!

what a piece of sh*t....i bought this for our 25# 1year old as a rear facing 'affordable' option; and let me say (from an engineering standpoint) this is the hardest to install, unsafe and worthless piece of sh*t on the market.

the instillation was seemingly easy, as there were two latches for the rear facing option...but then it doesn't really end there, does it? i don't know if i was more aggravated that i had to roll a towel and run a latch around it (stroke of genius there) to get it safely leveled, or that the tightening mechanism on the latch system was designed with such deliberate thoughtless abandon. oh but once, you get it tightened it's all fixed right? WRONG!! once it is tightened all the way down with the latches...with a rolled up towel...and me above it putting my knee into the center of the seat and pulling as hard as I could on the tether (i lift btw, bruh) it still moves side to side to almost tipping over on it's side.....and lord help us if we get rear-ended!!! It's really amazing that a company as well known as Graco put their name on this piece!!! I'll be returning it tomorrow....and then asking the lord to forgive me for the profanities this piece of sh*t made me exclaim!
