Note - do NOT get this from vendor CreateArt unless you're willing to wait a week for them to get around to shipping and another week for the item to arrive. I asked that the order be canceled after a week and they shipped it the following day, acting as if they hadn't received my request.
I contacted the manufacture of the film, they were very nice and said that this shouldn't be happening so they sent me a new roll of frisket. Well it came in today so I tried it and it exhibits the exact same problem. The adhesive pulls off the back of the film and sticks to the surface, pretty frustrating to spend 40 min trimming the frisket for masking only to have it leave reside on the surface you are trying to paint. Even worse is when you paint the surface then remove the frisket from the masked areas and it leaves residue. I have found no way to remove the residue other than using naptha and that removes the paint you just put down also. So unfortunately my review still stands.
I went and looked at the item product number for both the matte and clear frisket from Grafix and they are the SAME! KLM912-100N There is a photo of each on the particular to it page and other than saying clear or matte, there seems to be no difference. This frisket is not cheap. I have 100 sheets of something that probably won't work but I have to use it to see if it is adequate but then I cannot return it if it's used. I think the information on this frisket was less than needed. Grafix should have stated whether you could see thru the frisket or if it would block images from sight beneath it. I was so excited to find this in such a large quantity but think I should have purchased the smallest amount to see what it really was like instead of relying on the page content.
I have used other Grafix products previous to this so this is such a surprise and disappointment that the item is not better labeled. Had it been truly NOT see thru, I would have been raving.
