The screw on lids are nice and solid.. no leaks once the ice has melted. Also getting the ice into the bag itself is a snap...
the type one finds in pharmacies in the US today are made of plastic and are uncomfortable to the skin.
this one is different!
My grandmother had this. I thought it was great then, I used it or used on my kids, Well now since I have Grand kids I'm so glad I have my own English Ice Cap Bag. It is AWESOME. IN FACT I made a NON FREEZE-NO ICE ice pack that I keep in the freezer all the time, for bumps, boo-boo's and bad knees...I got this from the internet so its free game. Saw one like this on Facebook. I didn't put it in a zip lock bag, since this inside of the ENGLISH ICE CAP is rubber coated (on the inside) to help prevent leaking............How to Make Blue Ice Gel
1 ) Measure and pour 2-3 cups of water into a medium size mixing bowl.
2 ) Add 2 cups of rubbing alcohol 70% alcohol (VODKA- EVERCLEAR has higer alcohol content 95% which works better) to the water. Stir the mixture.
3 ) Squeeze three drops of blue food coloring in to the mixture. Stir the mixture, and add more food coloring as desired.
4 ) Pour the mixture in to a freezer bag or multiple freezer bags. Remember that the water will expand a bit when it is frozen, so consider the size of the bag or container that it is poured in to. Make one large ice pack in a gallon-size freezer bag, or a few smaller ones in sandwich-size bags.
5 ) Let the ice pack freeze. The final product should be a slushy blue ice pack that will soften and have a gel-like quality to it.
6 ) Refreeze and reuse the blue ice gel pack as needed.
Thanks again, Debbie Valosich

I get frequent migraines and these ice bags come in handy! The mouth is large so it's easy to fit ice cubes of any size in there and it keeps them cold for hours with no sweating!Published 4 months ago by LindsayB
It's getting harder and harder to find ice packs of any decent size anymore. All I could find at the drug stores were very small; about half the size of this one. Read morePublished 7 months ago by Renee DeShane
