Top customer reviews
So in conclusion to this long ass but detailed review, if you're wondering if it's worth the money. Yes. Yes it really is.
(And they're amazing for music as well. Best of both worlds.)
As far as durability I can't really comment because I just got them today, so maybe later on in life I will leave another review on that.
But heres this and hope it's helpful for anyone debating the buy. Ta.
Their use as a cat toy aside... these really aren't the end-all, be-all of headphones. What they are is comfortable with a fairly good sound, pretty good noise cancellation, and a low price. If you need something to wear while doing yard work, working out, or just listening to music on a commute, these are great. If you lose them or they're eaten in an unfortunate cat attack, they're not a great financial loss. My only real (tiny) complaint is that while these are not the most tangle-y headphone cords I've ever head, they certainly aren't the least tangle-y. But on that note, they do seem to be sturdy cords, so I think that outweighs the tangle factor. (I'm pretty hard on cords and have had to toss so many good pairs because the cords have come apart, so this is high praise.)
Obviously, I'd order these again (since I already have). Unless someone directs me to another set that are cheaper but still as comfortable and with as good noise cancellation, I'll probably reorder again if this pair meets an untimely demise.
PS: I wish I could tell you more about how well the microphone works, but it just didn't on the first pair, and I haven't tried it on this pair. Frankly, I hate being on the phone and try to text as much as I can. So this review is basically for how they work as just basic headphones.
To my surprise the sound is very, very good! The bass sounds amazing. I listened to a lot of EDM and put it through the test. They sound so much better than my other cheapy wired ear buds.
At first the mic was terrible, everything was too low. However, I made a few adjustments. To keep it close to my mouth, I used the attached clip and placed it on my shirt. In Windows Recording devices, I turned microphone level to 100. I did not use the Microphone Boost. There was a TON of noise but Windows 10 has a Noise Suppression feature which made a world of difference. Once I made these configurations, it was perfect.
I can't lie, nothing can beat the sound/mic of highly expensive headsets, but those mess up your hair. I have places to go and people to meet, ain't nobody got time for that.
Lastly it comes in an awesome tin can case, with another mesh case inside of it. Plus, they included a bunch of different ear tips, including ones made of memory foam. I thought i would love it, but I hated the memory foam and ended up using the standard plastic ear buds that came with it.
PLUGGED IN PHONE
I'm actually impressed, (IP Mode), in fact i tried all the equalizers on my phone while i was listening to music and it actually kept up at full volume. Haven't quite grasped the point of "NP" mode, it sounds weird thats the only thing i have to say about that part. One the other hand
I must say the "Noise Cancellation" definitely works with the foam tips. The foam tips are amazingly comfortable and they are also easy to remove and put on, unlike the standard rubber ones, but i think thats the case for every headphones that comes with standard rubber tips.
I have yet to try the microphone, ill get back to you guys on that one.
PLUGGED INTO LAPTOP
Of course I didn't expect them to work as well on my mac but its not terrible, it just sounds like basic earphones. I guess i'll leave my skull candy headphones to that. Again, i haven't tried the microphones so i'll get back to you guys after i take them for a spin on Skype or something.
Overall, i'd definitely recommend these earphones for just phones. On time shipping, I am satisfied.
