'Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories' game logo
There are a million stories in Liberty City. This one changes everything. Once a trusted wise guy in the Leone crime family, Toni Ciprini was forced into hiding after killing a made man. Now he's back in a singleplayer adventure for PlayStation 2 in which he is determined to put things right by any means.

The ninth game in the GTA series and originally released on the PSP in 2005 and re-released for PlayStation 2 in 2006, Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories is a prequel to Grand Theft Auto 3 in which players return to Liberty City, the town where all the rules were broken as Grand Theft Auto 3 revolutionized gaming and made the GTA series the biggest franchise on the planet. Within these stories the streets are in turmoil. Warring Mafiosi vie for control as the town begins to self-destruct under waves of political corruption, organized crime, drugs trafficking and union strikes. No one can be trusted as Toni and you attempt to clean up the mess of the city's chaotic underworld. The game features the famous sandbox styled nonlinear gameplay of the GTA series, as well as multiple NPCs, vehicles and weapons, independent storylines and a wealth of in-game radio stations accessible from vehicles.

'Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories' game logo
Vice City, 1984. Opportunity abounds in a city emerging from the swamps, its growth fueled by the violent power struggle in a lucrative drugs trade. Construction is everywhere as a shining metropolis rises from foundations of crime and betrayal. As a soldier, Victor 'Vic' Vance has always protected his dysfunctional family, his country and himself. One bad decision later and that job is about to get much harder. Kicked out onto the streets of a city torn between glamour and gluttony, Vic is faced with a stark choice - build and empire or be crushed.

The tenth game in the Grand Theft Auto series, Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories was originally released on the PSP in 2006, and then PlayStation 2 in 2007. Like Liberty City Stories before it, it is a singleplayer prequel; this time to Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. The game has all the functionality that GTA fans crave: open nonlinear gameplay with plenty of optional side missions, multiple ways to interact with NPCs, as well as a wide variety of available weapons, vehicles and radio stations. In addition, it also features extra in-game content not seen in the PSP version.

Let me start by saying I have yet to play through most of Liberty City Stories and I played only enough of Vice City Stories to see if I would like it. Also, this review will probably be more helpful to someone who has played GTA3 and Vice City. With that said, I am very impressed with both games. This is because they took two old games that I know and love and changed very little about them. All the missions are different, but the important thing for me is that the maps are exactly the same. To stop boring you, here is a list of things that I think makes the games worth playing if you enjoyed GTA3 and Vice City:

1. The maps are nearly the same.

2. The addition of motorcycles in LCS.

3. The ability to swim in VCS.

4. The smooth gameplay. I was fearful the gameplay would be choppy considering it was converted from a PSP game (e.g. Twisted Metal: Head On, when converted, seemed very choppy to me)

5. New missions while keeping certain things about the game (e.g. Vigilante Missions, Hidden Packages, Unique Jumps, etc.)

So to conclude, this game has deep and smooth gameplay, takes old games and makes them new without compromising anything, and is ideal for anyone who, like me, believes that GTA3 is the pinnacle of the the series. For those who haven't played the old ones, I think they are worth a try, but I'm not sure if you are going to feel the same was as the gamer who has played GTA3 and Vice City.

Ever since I played "Grand Theft Auto III", I have been a big fan ever since and have collected the series since that time. For those of you who have a PS2 and want a little spice and bang for your buck, I suggest getting this.

GRAPHICS
========
Oddly enough, the 2 games use the same game engine as it's previous games. (Liberty City Stories uses the GTA III engine and Vice City Stories uses the Vice City engine) You will also notice that the graphics have not made much improvements.

GAME PLAY
=========
Overall, game play is also the same as with the previous games that they followed. The following contains information on what changes have been made since the previous games...

LIBERTY CITY STORIES
====================
The only changes that have been made is that there are now new missions, new "hideout" locations, new characters to meet, new weapons to find and collect, new landmark locations to buy items, secret items to find, and many more. Other than that, the map itself is still about the same as that of GTA III.

VICE CITY STORIES
=================
The changes they have made to this game is that you play a different character than in Vice City, new hideouts, added a "Building Business" options to certain locations so you can now "own" a business and update as you see fit (Opened up later in the game as you progress), some landmarks got a new buildings from Vice City (There's a Fair Grounds area), new missions, new people to meet, and more secrets to open.

OVERALL
=======
One thing that is a bonus is that you get 2 games in one. Buying them separately you would cost double the price.

This double pack is extremely rare to find brand new factory sealed.It contains the prequels to Gta 3 and vice city respectively , I already owned these games individually but after watching collectors videos on YouTube I decided to buy to keep sealed for collection.The price is high as I paid $99 dollars for this set but it's hard to find in this condition the games are great and they arrived in great condition as of right now there are only 3 new listed.The seller was great thanks to POPnGames I don't blame them for the high price as they are only competing against other sellers, if you are a true Gta fan this set is a must in your collection, Hurry before they run out!!

These two games are some of the most underrated and awesome games of the entire franchise. They both have really nice graphics for being PSP ports but that's because of the additional effects they added to the PS2 versions of each since they had extra power in the PS2 left over. Liberty City Stories is a fun and crazy time with lots of wacky characters and an interesting plot. Vice City Stories is where you'll most likely spend most of your time because of the business empire system in the game. Vice City Stories plot shows what happens when crime enters your life and never leaves and we see what happens to poor vic as he's dragged deep down into the crime underworld. All in all for two AT LEAST 14 hour games 20 bucks is a bargain.

I'm a HUGE fan of the GTA Series, and have all games PS2 & XBOX Consoles games, and have played and beat them all. This double pack with Vice City Stories ( my personal favorite) and Liberty City Stories is a great addition. Liberty City Stories takes you back to the Liberty City ( Where Grand Theft Auto 3 began, and the great addition to this game VS GTA 3, is the in game Map, which shows you exactly where you are, and is a lot easier to navigate. Vice City Stories takes you back to Vice City, and the whole 1980's era ( of course, based on Miami Vice) . Awesome sound tracks, radio stations, and great fun! These 2 games are a must for any TRUE GTA Fan I think...
