Tim Bogenn was born in Grosse Pointe Michigan, moved to California's bay area in the early '90s where he started working at Sony Computer Entertainment of America (SCEA) just months before the launch of the first PlayStation. After three years with SCEA he began writing video game strategy guides for BradyGames which was later involved in a forced merger with Prima Games Publishing. Since 1998 he has written well over 100 strategy guides, the most popular being from the Grand Theft Auto series. Tim currently lives in Greenville, North Carolina where he and his wife Jennifer currently own and operate 7 House, a creative studio in the uptown Greenville's art district.

I collect these guides for collecting only because I am a massive fan of this series and I love anything to add to my collection. THAT BEING SAID this guide is not your best bet today for 100% completion not only are their some fat errors in the odd jobs section, but there are almost no actual strategies on how to do missions. overtime ive learned my own ways to mange completing these in much more time efficient and easy manner. Also you can find much better ideas and guides online for free now. Unless you want this book for a collection I highly suggest not buying its not as good as the 4 or vice city guide. Although I suppose if you are completely new to this game it might help a little with some missions as it will tell you upcoming dangers like a mission on a boat where a dude throws a grenade down a hall it will tell you to watch out for those scripted nightmare moments. Other than that its just a cool looking book and nothing more.

Wonderful piece of history. Wish it hasn't gone out of print. Bought 2 of them, one came with the bonus map, the other one didn't. I wouldn't even mind the scratches of use over the cover, but missing the map is what really killed this review by one star. One of them was supposed to be a gift, the other one for me. Shame :/

Much thicker than I expected for a game of its time. I'm not sure what mistakes other people say here are true for I honestly haven't examined it to the core, though mostly it is what it is; a guide. Lots of needed bonus features included specific weapons, cars, places, people were there which I appreciate the most in these books. The pages are filled with pictures and texts and were durable and thick. It also includes a poster in the back. Any obvious San Andreas fans out there, this is it.
