Being a big fan of Runrig and other folk/rock bands I am surprised I had never heard of Oysterband. This compilation album is a wonderful two record set. The songs range from traditional Gaelic, to the more contemporary (80's-90's) with a Gaelic influence. There is even a little Latin influence. This cd has not left my car player since I received it and down loaded to my iPod as well. Anyone who enjoys Gaelic/Celtic influence music will enjoy this cd.

Hey folks

My mother in law found this CD, brand new, at a local second hand shop. They had played locally at the Stan Rogers Folk festival, and someone must have bought it and tossed it..well, unlucky them and lucky me. This is an amazing collection of some very infectious music. There's a lot of songs, so it takes some time to grow on you, but it's certainly worth it. I love it, and believe me, I don't love everything, and have been listening to folk, rock, metal, new wave, ska, etc for at least 30 years.

Go for it. It's very good, and I am very glad it fell into my possession.

A significant collection of works from a Celtic Rock genre leader. Spans the years from early in the genre to the bands peak.

Oysterband is an extremely talented group of Irish musicians whose music falls somewhere in the folk/pop/rock categories. The singing and harmony are great, and the instrumental musicianship is outstanding. This collection covers many of their greatest songs, although they are still turning out superior music. If ye ha' a drop of Irish blod in ye, ye'll lov this 'un. Check out all their other CDs too - each one has its own particular bent, and all are just GREAT.
