From the Inside Flap

Here's a unique collection of wisdom, recipes and household lore from the 1880's. Good old-fashioned advice covers a wide range of topics, from forecasting weather and curing illnesses to making soap, distilling whiskey and fixing what's broken. A treasure. B&W line drawings throughout.

Format: Hardcover
The book is really an interesting piece. I found it to be more useful for the home remedies than the actual recipes in the book. It is written in older language, using ingredients and methods not common to present day. Anyone having limited knowledge of those words and phrases may find the book hard to use.

I bought this book a few years ago. My brother-in-law really got into it so I bought him his own copy. It has some good recipes and hints that are still usable and some bizarre stuff that is really fun to read. It is a replica not real oldie but still has the antique content!
