UPDATE: HAND HATCHETS ARE NOW NO LONGER PRODUCED WITH THE METEL WEDGE!! The Gransfors Bruks Hand Hatchet, sometimes called the Kubben, is just really cool. The Hand Hatchet has the same head as the Wildlife Hatchet, but on a shorter handle. It’s short, only 9.5 inches (24 cm) total, but very hefty for its size with a 21 ounce (600 gm) head and a 3 inch (7.6 cm) bit. The hickory handle is thick. Despite its length, you can get some real work done with this little guy. It is a real favorite among carvers. And i am pretty partial to it myself. This Hatchet will fit in any pack. And it is great to handle, so you’ll want to bring it. Leather sheath included. The sheath is designed to prevent the axe head from abrading a backpack. All Gransfors Axes come with the AXE BOOK and a 20 year guarantee. -SwedishAx.com
