Ghee is a type of clarified butter that is heated, reduced & triple-filtered out and what you’re left with is the pure healthy fat, which is lactose free & dairy free, good for digestion and metabolism. Ghee alone is an excellent alternative to butter for those who are lactose intolerant and who want the taste of butter, without the disadvantages of processed margarines. Unlike other oils it is rich in butyric acid, a short chain fatty acid that is great for your overall health and digestion. Ghee’s buttery taste and high smoke point (485 degrees) makes it an excellent addition to your everyday cooking oils, is extremely easy to cook with and delicious simply spread on a piece of toast. Fourth & Heart grass-fed ghee uses the highest quality grass-fed butter sourced from a cooperative of farms in New Zealand. Grass is naturally high in Vitamin A, D, E, K and CLA. I was under the impression that the 32 ounce jars were still being packaged in glass. This is not the case. They are now packaged in plastic as well. It is a shame that such a high-quality product from a good company is now cutting cost by providing a great product in inferior packaging. I can only imagine the amount of chemicals leached from the plastic into the ghee when it is hot and put into the jar. Unfortunately I will never order this product again.

Honestly, I have never been a butter lover my entire life so I was really not looking forward to the idea of butter in coffee, or using butter so lavishly in receipes. After reading about all the different butters, I thought i would try Ghee. I must have read all the reviews for 4th & Heart & the positives won me over. Now after 2 weeks use, I love Ghee in my coffee, & cooking with it is easy. Found my keeper.

I ordered this a week before and they were great, but these towo came and the contents was not the same consistency of the previous order. It was all separated and and runny, It was very disappointing. I did get a refund, because it looked totally inedible. The video shows the one on the left is the one that came kind of messed up and the one on the right is the product of the same brand that had a normal consistency.

This is a good flavored and well-made ghee. I especially like their commitment to sustainable values, 100% grass-fed and responsibly sourced butter. However, as someone who uses ghee daily for cooking, dietary and coffee purposes, the consistency and flavor isn't as deep and rich as other grass-fed brands nor even Indian store brands like Nanak or Swad. In that sense, it is very similar to organic valley's ghee butter.
I liked this ghee and will come back to it from time to time but will be using another brand for my go-to needs.

This item comes up every time I search for Organic ghee. I accidentally purchased it last month after searching for organic ghee. When it arrived, I realized it is not organic. Since then, I have shopped using the same "organic ghee" search terms multiple times, and every. single. time that I do, this product is at the top of the list. Amazon must have a promotional relationship with this brand for it to pop up so often when it does not even meet my search terms. Don't be fooled because this item shows at the top of your search, it is NOT organic!

"4th & Heart" grass fed GHEE is the best I've ever tried!!
The 32 oz. container makes it more effective for storage capacity.
The texture is always smooth & consistent. It stays firm when cool, & melts nicely when needed.
It is the best priced grass fed ghee that I have found, & I have searched hi & low.
I do wish they'd bring back the glass jars though!!!

Quality Varies - last two jars rancid

I had 3 good jars but the 4th jar was rancid. Amazon graciously sent a replacement and it was also rancid. The two latest jars smell nothing like butter. Ghee should have a milky-sweet smell (like butter). The two recent jars have a sour corrugated cardboard smell and almost a bitter taste. Definitely don't want this in Bulletproof coffee. I've had better luck with the Ancient Organics brand which has consistently been fresh. Giving them 3 stars because the first jars were good.

God help us all. I actually don't recommend buying this at all. It's expensive, criminally delicious and will tarnish your unhealthy love for butter (and I'm assuming you have an unhealthy love of butter if you're unsatisfied with coconut oil and are looking for clarified butter instead). Turn back now before it's too late. This should be outlawed.

How Fresh is it?

For the price I expected a better product. The one I got was wrapped into an old delivery package shipped to some guy (I will not mention the name) 7 months ago (on 7/2/2020). Now I got it, not sure how and why. The labels are peeling off and the jar doesn't look new. There are still a few months prior to expiration date, but it means that the product have been traveling around for 1.5 years. I do not even want to open the jar - don't trust the product and don't think it's fresh. I expected more for the price. Will not buy this brand again.

It has leaked a quarter of the product. It should be put in a small cold refrigirator or make sure that the temperature during transportation does not change too much.
Thank God that Amazon packaged well because it hasn't leaked on the rest of the order.
