After 4 years using this protein, I had to change after value loss over time.

I started purchasing this product 4 years ago, in Nov. 2016 in another online store and later here at Amazon. At that time the protein content was about 91% of the weight, I was pretty happy with it since I control the amount of protein I eat, so less protein content means I have to use more product and it lasts shorter. Then a couple years ago they changed the product without any notification. They changed to grass feed, but reduced the protein content to 83% without modifying the price. But for me was an increase of 9.6% since I ingest a given quantity of protein and now I have to eat more. So, that was actually a price increase for me. That was the first problem.

Then they have been rising the price, from initial $52 to currently $66, to a point that I decided to shop around for a better product. In four years. I saw a total price increase per gram of protein of 40%. Now I have tested another Casein Micellar Protein product at the same price per gram of protein I was paying 4 years ago.

I have switched and Muscle Feast has lost a customer. Maybe if they adjust the price to be competitive again, I would return as a customer.

Can’t say I love the taste, then again I’ve been using Naked PB and Egg white powder in my smoothies for about a year and thought giving casein a try would be more economical and practical for the protein... honestly the taste and texture are too much for me. I’m going to finish the powder but I have to still blend it in with my other powders to mask the taste. It does fluff up and bulk my smoothies and I tried the protein fluff recipe I had been wanting to make = you’ve got to be desperate for “sweet treats with lots of protein” to actually eat it. Not for me, I prefer real food and can live without it.
So my thoughts are, lots of great protein but awful taste and texture as a sacrifice I’m not willing to compromise and will stick with Naked PB and Paleo Egg white powder instead.

Clumpy sludgey mess - even for Casein. (Second batch much better)

I purchased this from Muscle Feast as "Micellar Casein 4lbs (Unflavored) on Amazon before and loved the product, but unfortunately this "Hardcore" batch is different in a very bad way. The other batches I've used were thick - expected with Casein - but not THIS thick. This product turns to an immobile sludge with 8oz of milk (the amount I normally drank the old batches with fine) and never quite blends all the way. I shake it as hard as I can for several minutes and there are still tiny unbroken clumps of casein to chew.

I am unsure the difference between "Hardcore" and the regular Micellar Casein because both labels and containers look exactly the same, but I will never purchase the "Hardcore" version again. Can't wait to get through this batch so I can go back to my old favorite.

EDIT: I thought my last purchase may have been a fluke as the texture was so wrong, so I purchased another batch and was ready to return it if it was the same. I was pleasantly surprised this time! Normal casein texture and doesn't become a sludgy mess that sticks in the bottom of the cup! Not sure what was wrong with the last batch I ordered, but I am extremely happy with it this time around!

Love the company and also the fact that they casein comes from grass-fed cows. I bought their whey isolate, which I love, dissolves easily and is smooth. This casein, however, is extremely gritty tasting. The taste is fine, but the texture is just awful and hard to get down. Quite odd considering the powder itself is very fine, super smooth, and soft.

I chose this product for the way the body absorbs it...Slowly, which is exactly what I need. It keeps my hunger in check and I don't have to worry about having enough usable protein in me..

I read and researched this here on Amazon and decided that the way I was going to deal with the taste and grittiness was to buy a small blender and some sort of natural sweetener , which I did...But the casein came before the blender and I had a chance to try it... I ended up canceling the blender order .

My opinion on this stuff is yes I can detect a bit of grittiness/graininess but It's completely acceptable to me and I am very very picky about texture. Def no need for a blender and while I haven't tried it without the sweetener yet, I did try it with some Pure Stevia Organic Extract...Think it was under $10 bucks. It comes with a tiny tiny little scoop. I currently use 2 or 3 of the scoops in a mixer sport bottle with 12 oz of water that you shake to blend the stuff...I use plain water and the stevia and it's almost perfect. Stevia does have a slight taste of its own.

I also bought some pure coconut suger stuff which I haven't tried yet, but based on the test I did with coffee, it's going to require too much of the stuff for my liking, since I'm using the casein 1-2 times a day...

Def going to buy more once the 4lbs runs out...Which is another plus...Good value.

If I must be honest, I bought this powder solely for the fact that it was low calorie and only had two ingredients. I don't care about how good or bad it tastes. I bought it unflavored so I could mix it with things, but i've never actually mixed it with anything.

PROS:
Easy to mix, doesn't clump up
It doesn't foam up when I only fill half my shaker bottle

CONS:
It tastes like slightly watery skim milk

I've been using this for a week. I got it when I finished my ON 100% Natural Casein. I've started moving towards cleaner supplements, and for the price, it is supreme. I could do without the 1.5% soy lecithin, but it's much cheaper than the competitor with none, and at least it's non-gmo soy.
It mixes as one would expect for a natural casein (ie: always some undissolved), but it does so noticeably BETTER than Optimum Nutrition's.
I have NOT had any issue with a cardboard taste like some other reviewers mentioned; however, it tastes "better" mixed with water + heavy cream or half&half (my go-to method for most supplements) Taste is highly subjective though.
Also, it digests a lot easier (I take casein before bed) than ON's natural casein.
Overall I recommend it.
