About the Author
Andre Voisin is a member of The Académie d'Agriculture de France in Paris. He was a biochemist by training, but a farmer by inclination. He was known to spend long hours watching his cows grazing his fields in Normandy, which inspired his "rational grazing" management plan theory.

This book is worth reading, but if one wants a hasty version, head over to Wikipedia and enter the authors name. The essentials are there (now). But if you can get this book from a library or you want to pay to buy it it just might change the entire way you see the agricultural landscape. The best modern update to the concepts in this book I have found is Bill Murphy's Green Pastures on Your Side of the Fence. If you don't start with Voisin (who isn't an easy read), then start with Murphy.
