Each character was unique, from Erica to Mark. All the dialogues were pithy and urbane. All the plots flowed smoothly, and not once did I feel that anything was contrived.
I tend to enjoy it when a man has screwed up and needs to grovel, so I have to admit, I would've liked to see Mark work harder to be forgiven. Like Erica said, he may have had to have her arrested, but he didn't have to believe her guilt. I agree and therefore, she should've made him beg a bit.
But given how mature her characters always are, it wouldn't fit. Still...
I can't wait for Ms. Grant to come out with a new book.
When the local Kalahwamish tribal chairman request that Libby's report to the Corps of Engineers show how the tribe was treated by the Thorpe family over the years things go from bad to worse.
From here Libby starts following treads that she thinks has to do with the wrongful treatment of the tribe but it ends up leading to old murders which puts Libby in the crossfire of someone who doesn't want past secrets uncovered.
