This isn't your typical "exorcist" book, not even close... It's unique and when I say, "feel" I mean, you'll feel everything these characters go through. Laugh, love, fight, cry and be ready to kill along with Vi, Aaron and Lana in this well-written Urban Fantasy! I can't wait for book two!
The pacing of this story is one thing I found a bit off. It would be very fast paced then slow to a halt, especially in the middle of the story when there is a change of setting. I think a lot of that section could have been condensed to keep the story moving forward.
There was also a bit of instalove going on. I think that letting the characters get to know each other a bit longer would have endeared them to me more.
That being said, this was in no way a bad book. I found myself laughing often and even fist pumping a few times.
Vi is an exciting and different MC, and I loved her. She didn't take crap off anyone, she held her own against every adversary she came across, and at no point did I ever think, hmm I hope someone comes to rescue her. I knew she had this. I did enjoy her closeness with her step-brother, Aaron. I felt like the two really cared about one another. Lana was also a great addition to the team.
The ending of this book is a rollercoaster ride in all the best ways, and I am anxious to read the next book to see where Vi and her crew go from here.
