Cat does it again! This is the first in the Artistic Pricks Ink Series and it does not disappoint!
Luke is positively swoon worthy and just enough Alpha Male to make you drool. Who doesn't love a man that can make you drool and provide you with awesome INK!
Kionna is such a great leading lady! I only had one small issue with her and her chosen profession. There are so many options for injured dancers. But I loved how she became another person on stage, and still managed to keep her dignity intact while doing it.
There is humor, mystery, angst and everything I have come to expect from a Cat Mason masterpiece! Every character is important! I thought I had it all figured out but in the end I was thrown for a loop!
You must meet Luke!
I loved that there was a bit of suspense as a secondary storyline, trying to figure out who is threatening Ki and why.
I loved the characters. I loved the build up of suspense throughout the book. Kionna was a dancer, injured and unable to ever dance as she used to she was living a double life as Sabrina the Vegas showgirl. No one knew that Kionna and Sabrina were one and the same, other than those she worked for.
When she meets Luke, who owns a very successful tattoo business, the chemistry between them is hot. He only knows her as Kionna, but as things build and the drama increases, you know it's only a matter of time before he learns the truth. Lives are in danger and it becomes a case of figuring out who is behind it all. I came to my own conclusions and turned out to be right. Overall, I loved this book. Can't wait to read more from this series.
Now I can't say the actually story is bad. It's not. It's a typical romance. Man falls for hot flexible chick. Hot chick resists and her persists and suddenly they're in love with some mystery thrown in. And one really unlikable alcoholic friend who apparently has an excuse that has to do with an ex girlfriend???? I don't know. There was not a drop of love in me for that trainwreck called Mitch even to the very end of the book. Taken on face value in this book he just wasn't likeable at all. And because I didn't read the other books I'm not sure about the irrational outrage of Luke when it comes to finding out what Ki's actual career is so at that point he was pretty unlikable himself.
