My daughter loves this book, as she is currently really into gravity. It has a nice explanation of gravity and its relationship to weight on earth and on different planets and the moon. This would serve as a good introduction to force/acceleration, though it doesn't discuss gravity in those terms. Also, I like how it shows how gravity pulls to the center of an object, as opposed to the apparent pull of it to the ground or surface.

My 7 year old niece went through a phase where she was obsessed with the idea of gravity. I think it was because of the movie Gravity (she is too young to see it, but the promos always sparked a conversation). We couldn't accurately answer a lot of the questions she posed, so for Christmas I purchased this book in the hopes it would help. Not only was she happy to receive it, but months later she is still interested in the topic (which is impressive given all the distractions coming at her) and I can ask HER questions about gravity!

Did a unit on space. Gravity plays a role and my 5 year old still walks around talking about gravity with the trampoline and that it's a mystery.

I bought this as a supplement to our study of outer space. My son enjoys it as a bedtime story and my daughter occasionally pulls it off the shelf on her own to look through it. It's a well-written story so it engaged my 5-year-old and my 3-year-old equally. I like that it has a story line AND communicates some interesting facts.
