I get a lot of compression on the rear coil-over shock. I plan to swap this out for an air shock model so I can up the pressure in it. It has a standard adjusting nut but didn't include a wrench. I may have a bike shop adjust it for me and see if it works for me. Mine looks like a 160mm eye-to-eye, which is not very much travel.
Don't expect to be jumping with this bike or you'll likely bottom out on the frame mount. Most higher-end bikes have 200mm or longer shocks in the rear.
Overall happy with it for my recreational riding and some minor trail riding. Definitely needs more aggressive tires if you expect to accelerate off of boulders or slippery surfaces. Tires it comes with are good for street or basic trails.
One of my co-workers is a much more advanced cyclist than I am and was very surprised in the quality and features in this bike compared to his much more expensive collection of MTB's.
I'll update my review as I ride and abuse it some more.
