This book has several nice features, but unfortunately was useless for me as I am a beginner. So if you are a solitaire beginner, look elsewhere. If you already know how to play and want a nice little book with a summary of solitaire rules for over 100 different games, this would be it. I am going to buy another book to learn how to play and then use this as a reference.

In the back of the book there is an outstanding informational chart and index that lists the name of each game, the page of the book that it is briefly described, the amount of space it takes to play (Small, Medium, Large), the difficulty (Easy, Moderate, Difficult), if it is appropriate for young children, and the number of packs you need. This would be very helpful, and I plan to use it (again, once I can find out how to play the games).

Recommended only for people very familiar with solitaire.

The book is simple to follow if you know how to play with cards it does not waste your time with unneccessary details on how to play cards just gives you the instructions on getting started. After all it is the playing that is fun.

This is a very disappointing book. I am an absolute beginner and this book seems written for those who already know how to play all of these classic games. There is not enough detailed follow-through examples of what happens after set-up. The only use I have for it is to use it as a road map to games I would like to play but need further instruction!
