This item has two major strikes against it:

The English translation takes a few too many liberties with the French.

More importantly, this is not the entire collection of essays. It only contains two essays. It is missing his essays on Poetry as well as The Essence of Laughter.

Fabulous thoughtful treatise on painting and modernity from the 1800s. Baudelaire is a master essayist in the style of Emerson.
