Any woman who has felt rejection from a guy, especially he’d been the HEA she thought she had, would seek some sort of escapism from the emotional pain she’s suffering from, such as Amy had been going through.
Falling into the arms of another guy out of the blue would be quite invigorating, especially he happens to be a hotel billionaire like Will Marcus. The only problem with a billionaire hunk is that they either think they can get any woman they want because of their money and she must be willing to cater to their every whim; or they’ve been hurt when women didn’t have an iota of interest in them but only their money; and having that woman be an ex-wife merely increases the pain of remembering the relationship.
This is why, the shell-shocked protagonist, Will Marcus, has problems with allowing his apparent obsession with Amy to come to the surface so he can make love to her. Once this psychological wall has been broken, Will, can allow what he sees in Amy to come to the surface. Can their relationship
Begin now? Or will it take something more?
The overall writing is quite decent with just the right amount of spicy sex scenes to make the story interesting and a decent reading experience which is why this book is getting 4 STARS from this reviewer.
William Marcus is in the process of taking a rundown resort and bringing it back to life. While he does this, he keeps the people who were working on if possible. On the day he was to meet with those employees who were staying, he ran into a beautiful young lady who was carrying coffee. Coffee went all over her with some on him. He blames his inattention on Caroline who is wanting to become the next Mrs. William Marcus as soon as his divorce is final. What a way to start a morning. At the first meeting, he introduces the first people who just happen to be from high ranked colleges in the East. When he comes to Amy Monroe, he hesitates because she did not graduate from one of these major colleges. She was hired to help morale and to be the coordinator of Events. She had taught dance and art related activities at the resort. However, his lengthy pause indicated to her and others that he found her unworthy of the job. This sets the tone for their relationship- argumentative and distrustful.
How can untried Amy manage to impress this CEO and keep her job after this?
Amy is determined to keep her job and to do her best despite the rumors her so called friends say about her. She is also determined not to get involved with William, but can she help it?
The book is good and well-written. It does have a couple of extremely graphic sexual scenes.
Amy also has a history of failed relationship and when the two lonely souls meet, sparks are bound to fly.
The two instantly got attracted and felt seduced by each other. It doesn’t look like a love at first sight but the two highly turned on humans seeking ways to make love.
It wasn’t emotional or charming at all. The care and compassion that a caring alpha should feel for his woman is missing in this book. The characters are not very likeable. The characters lack depth and often felt flat. And I couldn’t work out the mention of Violet and the sympathy that Amy showed for her. The chain of events where Will and Nando danced with Violet one after another felt like an unrelated utterance.
However, the writing has effects on me. The flow was natural and I loved the poetic description of people, places, dresses, and dishes.
I would have loved to read more about Will and Amy’s growing affection for each other during the dance classes. There was a place where a crazy chemistry could sizzle, but it never happened. The dance classes ended like a whiff in the air, and the next moment, Will was dancing flawlessly.
There are numerous ups and downs in Amy and Will’s love story and the final icing on the cake was the sudden appearance of Will’s ex-wife and later Amy’s brother, Kevin, almost at the end.
All I can say that it was a nice attempt but the story lack originality. That being said, the author succeeded in impressing the reader with her classy writing style, smoothly flowing dialogues, and spicy love scenes. At the end, I recommend The Greater Beauty to anyone who’s looking for a spicy and hot billionaire romance with a HEA ending.
