This L.T.D. 'Greatest Hits' CD, which lacks the CLASSIC slow jams 'Concentrate On You' & 'We Both Deserve Each Other's Love' doesn't deserve a 5 star rating (I almost gave it 2 stars!). What was the record company thinking by not adding these 2 songs ? At any rate, A&M dropped the ball AGAIN, but fans are urged to make their own CDs, with a better tracklisting than this one. Whew...

For as long as I can remember, whenever I asked anyone about LTD, they stared at me as if I was crazy. Most people had never even heard of the song "Stranger" which I think is one of the greatest songs ever. Now with this Greatest Hits Collection, I can bring my friends into the know with LTD.
I actually bought the CD just for the song "Stranger", but this CD has become my 70s Soul Groove starter CD. With other songs like Shine On (A Classic), Love Ballad, Holding On and Back in Love Again, I am amazed by the apparent lack of interest or knowledge of this group by people.
Many would say that this is a Jeffrey Osbourne Pre-Solo Compilation. I beg to differ. This group's funky sound was only enhanced by Mr. Osbourne stunning vocals.
A Definite Music Collection "Must Have".

I really love this greatest hits CD. It has so many great songs. There is only one I don't like! It doesn't have the long version of "Back In Love Again" but it does appear on Jeffrey Osbourne's greatest hits. You really can appreciate Jeffrey's voice, and the love songs are timeless. They also include "April Love" which was recorded after he went solo. I also bought it for "We Party Hearty" which is a fun song. There is really nothing bad I can say about this one. It really brings back memories.

This is classic R&B. I grew up listening to these songs. I listened to this a few weeks back and I thought it was 1976..again! "Where Did We Go Wrong", "Love Ballad", "Stranger", "Back In Love Again", "We Party Hearty", "Holding On" is Jeffery Osborne at his best. Don't miss him performing live! I heard "Love To The World" this morning on the radio and couldn't help bobbing my head. This is a must for your music collection.

Jeffrey Osborne & Company were on such a creative roll in the late 70's/ early 80's that a greatest hits package almost seemed redundant! The opener, "Where Did We Go Wrong" is placed perfectly as it is my favorite LTD jam of all time! Not quite a ballad, but not quite fast either it, along with the gorgeous, flawless "Love Ballad" are just a couple of the highlights on this great collection. A true must for fans of 70's funk/R&B, "Greatest Hits" shows a real band that played real music, and it's all classic!

This CD compiles 15 of L.T.D.'s biggest hits, but notable among the missing are "Never Get Enough of Your Love" (#8 R&B, #56 pop in 1978) and "We Both Deserve Each Other's Love" (#19 R&B 1978). The latter is on Jeffrey Osborne's "Ultimate Collection" along with enough other L.T.D. cuts to make that the better purchase for many. At 68:31, at least one and maybe both could have been included here.

I didn't care for "Stranger" or "Kickin' Back", but will give them another listen (I felt un-funky this morning). They were both hits as well, and some may prefer them to the songs I mentioned above.

I think there should have been at least one actually-discernable picture of the group members in the three-page liner notes, which are skimpy. You have to squint to make out anyone's face on the cover photo, and the band members, which did earn 14 R&B hits over eight years, deserve to be able to see themselves somewhere in the package.

The 2 omissions I listed are on the 20th-century "Millenium" collection Amazon offers, but for some reason (can you record it to make your own hits disc?) (that was the main reason by the way) I am skeptical of a CD-R manufactured release.

I almost forgot to mention that, for the uninitiated, "Back in Love Again" is an awesome jam; "Holding On" is also excellent, and the ballad "Shine On", which reached #40 pop just before Jeffrey Osborne left for his solo career, is highly recommended.

I had all their cassettes back in the 70s. Upon the 1st listen,it all came back to me how great these guys were. There are a few L.T.D. songs on the Jeffrey Osborne collections, but this is 100% L.T.D.! Take's me back to the late 70s, and the classic soul of that era.
The 2 songs on this disc that were released after he left, just don't measure up. It shows you how truly gifted he is. Much like when Lionel left the Commodores, and Teddy the Blue Notes, those groups tried to go on, but it was over for them. This is a must have for anyone's collection!!!
