1) Toto is my favorite band by a large margin. I have all the original release CD's so I won't complain about the sound quality so much on this compilation. I bought the CD for the new tracks. But yes please respect the dynamics and don't do the massive compression. Maybe it's OK for a radio edit, but don't do it on the CD. I can turn up my volume knob. No star deducted.
2) The CD case was cracked on arrival. C'mon Amazon - CDs belong in shipping boxes, not soft side envelopes!! No star deducted.
3) A pretty good mix of the hits. And thankful that it's a long list - not just 10 or so tracks like many "hits" albums.
4) And now the reason I deducted that star - the CD won't play on my CD player. It's not recognized. I have to play it in my DVD/Blue-Ray player. Seriously? I have a Denon 6 disc CD changer and I can't put this disc in the rotation for an afternoon of music listening. IT'S A MUSIC CD - IT NEEDS TO PLAY IN A CD PLAYER.

I was so excited to get this album. It was worth the wait just for the three new songs. My favorite is "Alone" I think it is a nod to how social media has made us more alone than ever. I have been listening to them since the early 80s and they still got it. They are like wine they only get better with age. I've seen several 80s band and you can't say that about a lot of them. Some of them just need to call it quits, but not Toto, they are the "thinking man's band". I love their writing as well as the music. Their music has substance. KEEP ON ROCKING GUYS!

I have been a big Toto fan for well over 30 years since first buying the bands debut album on vinyl in the 1980's. And several albums later I still am. Great songwriting coupled with stellar musicians across the years featuring Steve Lukather's virtuoso guitar work along with the same from David Paich and Steve Porcaro on keyboards. The incredible voice of Bobby Kimball then ad in the late and truly great Jeff Porcaro on drums on those earlier albums and its easy to see the bands long appeal. The double disc collection here features most of the bands well known and not so well known classics including 3 newly recorded songs that feature the return of Joseph Williams on vocals. Remastered and in a lovely gatefold package this pressing sounds superb. If you are a fan of the band and fancy a concise collection you can dip into every now and then that ticks all the 'Toto' boxes then this is it. interesting to spot some backing vocal work on 2 tracks featuring Don Henley and the wonderful Jon Anderson!

If ever there was a band that was so underrated or under-valued, it must surely be Toto. This release sees them celebrate their 40th anniversary, and 40 trips around the sun encapsulates an extraordinary career of sublime music. This new compilation bristles with vitality. The remastered songs are vibrant and have a new clarity, especially the percussion which is sounding more vibrant. The new songs are a welcome bonus and although Spanish Sea has the hybridization of Africa and Rosanna, it far exceeds the brilliance of those songs. Alone is a superb vehicle for the voice of Joseph Williams, who now back into the fold, sounds as crisp as he did in the 1980s. Struck by lighting takes Toto into heavier territory, but for those requiring more of this, check out Kingdom of Desire, surely one of the best rock albums of all time. This compilation follows many that have gone before but as a Toto fan since 1977 this album encapsulates a band of rare genius who are still selling out all over Europe, it's just a shame that the Uk do not embrace their genius.

This compliation of their greatest hits is essential, I've been a fan of Toto since early eighties late seventies when Hold the line and Africa was released. Production is flawless on this vinyl and all the major hits are included here. Love the packaging and inner sleeves, quality of pressing is good and transfer to vinyl clear and crisp without being over loud or brash. I had the original LP vinyls but having this collection makes you appreciate what a great band they really are. Great price, thanks Amazon for great release.
