Seeing as Reprobates of the Wasteland and its sequel are science fiction, I was expecting to find a collection of SF stories. This turns out not to be a compendium of short SF stories, but rather a collection apparently covering all of Greco's range, which extends beyond SF. For instance, "American Suicidal" comments on Hollywood and the current spate of "Big Brother"-type TV programming. The title "When the Squirrels and Pigeons Had a War" sounds cute and fantasy-like, but will have you thinking about the sense of any war among people. And when you've finished reading about how Earth has to declare bankruptcy and is forced to sign over all its holdings (including citizens) to the aliens known as "The Creditors", you might think twice before using your credit card!
I think many of these stories wouldn't look out of place in mainstream SF/fantasy magazines such as The Magazine of Fantasy & Science Fiction or Asimov's. My advice to the author: read over your stories (or have an editor do it) to get rid of the occasional typo (not many books have a mistake in their first line!), and then send them off somewhere for publication - you've got talent!
I loved it from beginning to end.
