It's a good coloring book, it just isn't pretty
Not the best drawings to color in, ugly faces, awkward body positions and a stag that is definitely a gazelle. So 2 stars for the artwork. Also: The cover art is not included in the book and most of the images are much less visually interesting. Overall, the images aren't detailed enough or interesting enough to make up for the very bad faces throughout. Most pages feature one or two people set against a plain backdrop of sky, rocky-mountain and an occasional tree. It's a good coloring book, it just isn't pretty.I much more highly recommend Dover's 'Life In Ancient Greece' coloring book, since it includes much more visually complex scenes.If you want specifics,In one of the worst of the bunch, Aphrodite looks like Nicole Kidman in 'To Die For' with bangs, a layered hair cut, and a modern headband. In another, Artemis is badly rendered (out of proportion) and is also not styled according to ancient depictions (plus she is definitely hunting a gazelle). In a third, Persephone has an impossible (and very uncomfortable looking) head angle (with a very ugly face). Oh, Hades wears a villainous goatee. Prometheus' body is completely out of proportion. Of course there are pages which get it right, and this is an excellent educational tool. The best images of the bunch appear in the preview, Rheia, Zeus, Hera and the muses were the only pages I would give 4 or 5 stars.
