As a huge fan of Montgomery, this was one I hadn't read yet, and I am so glad that I went into her back catalog and grabbed this. It was a very inspirational story, told in the present and through reflections of their time together in the past. The stories were touching, sometimes humorous, sometimes healing, and it was through their shared past that they were able to work on the present. A very uplifting read.
I looooove K.L. Montgomery’s books!! I have not read one, that I didn’t love and enjoy!! Now this one, is no different!!
This book, tells a story about former best friends. Who are reunited together for a tragedy, no parent should ever have to experience!!
Jennifer, Kat and Michelle were rather inseparable growing up. It was them against the world at all times. Their bond was unbreakable , or so they thought. But an misunderstanding, tore them apart.
Now years later, they are together again. It shows how their friendship is truly resilient. Now matter the years, their bond is still there!!
Every woman on this planet… needs those kind of women in their life. No matter the distance or the years of unspoken words… when push comes to shove! They are there for you ,through thick and thin, the good and bad times!!
I love books about strong friendships !! This book is one of my favorites by K.L. !! I enjoyed the flashbacks and their fabulous bond!! It just shows that some things are really and truly unbreakable!!

5 out of 5 stars
The story Green Castles by K.L. Montgomery is a wonderful book that I enjoyed reading. It is a story that I found both heartbreaking and heartwarming at the same time. The three main characters are Jennifer, Kat, and Michelle. They have been reunited by a sad event. These three had been best friends back when they were in school. I enjoyed the memories that you are taken back to by each character. They show how these three loved to spend time together, had crushes on boys, and how they got along with their families. I also enjoyed reading about what happened in their lives after they left school. This is a story that had my emotions going up and down all the time. I had to keep my box of tissues nearby when reading certain scenes. This is also a story that teaches the power of forgiveness. Forgiving others can be a positive step in not only for the one you forgive but yourself as well. There are other secondary characters in this story which are the friends and family of the three main characters and some of the townspeople. They all have their place in the story and I loved reading about them. I have read other books by this author and have found that she writes wonderful stories that I have a hard time putting down until I have read the last page. The characters that she creates as amazing and you can relate to what they are going through. I can’t wait to read the next book she writes.
Since the death and impending burial of Jennifer's little girl is the cause of their reunion, the narrative is interspersed with religious homilies, prayers and scripture as the women learn "how strong the bonds of family and friendship truly are." Naturally, "In the end everyone realized that the most important thing is love."
This book has some touching scenes, especially at little Hope's funeral, but the characters, presentation and lack of a plot left me flat. Three stars for the author's writing ability and the professional editing and proofreading.
I liked the way Montgomery used all three of the women’s points of view. We knew just what each was thinking and feeling. We could enjoy the adventure of life and death that Kat, Michelle and Jennifer were on separately and together. True friendship means never giving up. These women learn this the hard way.
Montgomery is one of my go to authors. I have no problem recommending this story and will continue to read what she writes.
