G-Oil bio-based Bar and Chain "green" oil is a superior performing ultimate biodegradable oil made with American grown base oils (fatty acids derived from animal fats and plant oils) and the power of nanotechnology. The product significantly reduces potential operator health hazards, including skin, eyes and lung irritation generally associated with mineral oil based products.

I got this Bar and chain oil because I wanted to be more conscious of the environmental impact left by chain oils. Wood shavings can easily end up in my vegetable garden and I know this mostly canola oil blend is biodegradable.
I used the oil on a cooler winters day and it flowed well, I also have an adjustable oiler - many midgrade or better saws do. While I didnt make an adjustment, I could if warranted.
In the past I've used a different brand (Wasn't available locally) to cut next to a river where I wanted to avoid contamination of surface water.
It costs more than oil base. It is worth it in some circumstances like those I mentioned.
I haven't yet used it enough to give it 5 stars. I'd like to cut for a good 30 hours to see if there was any difference in chain wear vs oil.
**12/10/2015** update - I've now gone through several gallons of this oil. I actually wore out the original electric chainsaw after cutting down another 30 some trees and had to purchase another electric chain saw. I continue to use this oil without any reservation.
