Whatever they put in it to attract the ants is good stuff - you can see them come out and start carrying it away as soon as you put it down. I have purchased another brand with Conserve (Safer) that the ants do *not* like - they walk right over it and leave it alone. So I'm ordering some more of the Green Light!
Edited to add that it gets cheaper as you go along, if you use it regularly. When I first started, my 9/10 acre took six to eight bags. (I treated mounds, the house and storage building perimeters, and the fence perimeter.) After having used it for several years, the ants are virtually gone. I just treated the house and storage building perimeters and the very few remaining mounds with just two bags.
Edited to add that I suggest you do a Google search for this product in addition to Amazon - the price has gone way up here, and I found a serious deal on 12 bags (like less than 1/2 the price here per bag) by using Google.
We do, however, have a less common fire ant. The ants are a bit larger and harder to find. They often show up if I turn over rocks or mulch, then I find a nest I never would have noticed otherwise. This variety of fireant seems largely unaffected by this product.
So basically, Green Light worked great for 90% of our fire ant problem, but for the others, I need to find another solution.

I used this product several years and got excellent results, but was a total failure this time. Has there been a change to the product or was it just a bad batch?Published on October 21, 2013 by Rose K.
Don't waste your money. Buy Ortho Orthene Fire Ant Killer instead, it works. I wish it had worked as advertised.Published on August 20, 2013 by D. Joyner
One application and ants disappear...Easy to apply. I had many mounds around the property. Red ant hills do not seem to pop up in other places either..Published on July 26, 2013 by Jim
May require more that one treatment. But they will finally get the message. Can take a week or so before the ants are gone.Published on May 26, 2013 by P Lee
