In this world of easy access to information leading to efficient pricing, it's not very often that you come across a product that's better than its competitors selling for much less much money that isn't much more popular than its competitors.

I thought this relatively low priced product was too good to be true, and only tried it because I read that Green Vibrance, the alternative I have used in the past, contains contaminants. I came across an article by Markham Heid in the July 2013 issue of Prevention (http://www.prevention.com/food/smart-shopping/your-green-drink-more-hazard-health) summarizing the results of a survey of supplements by ConsumerLab earlier that month (http://www.consumerlab.com/news/greens_whole_foods_review_released/07_08_2013/ - the details of the results are not public but Prevention disclosed that Green Max was ConsumerLabs approved, along with Juice Plus, which is far more expensive and marketed through a network).

To be fair, Vibrant Health, the maker of Green Vibrance, responded the same month by claiming that the ConsumerLab study failed to distinguish between "naturally occurring" arsenic and arsenic that is manufactured, and that Vibrant Health is very careful with its ingredients that its customers have been using for many years (http://wolfcrowell.wix.com/wolf#!vibrant-health-arsenic-response/chpn). I've used Green Vibrance on and off and most recently for the past few months. Still, why take chances in ingesting contaminants over a long period of time when there is a cheaper product that does not have them? Oh, and by the way, this product is the best tasting of all the supplement powders I have tried.

For the money you can't beat this Swanson product, Green Max Powder.

You can purchase a 1 month supply for about a third of the cost of comparable brands.
Comes in a hefty container, ALL ingrediants listed with detailed break-downs of the "obligatory" propriatory blend. Scoop included.

My only quibble is that the taste is rather bland. Many 'Green Foods' have a spirulina flavor as well, usually enhanced with a hint of lemon or something. Green Max Powder could use that extra "something". Be creative if taste is your thing.

However for the price and the quality of the product this is great.I use 2 scoops in a 16oz water bottle, shaken, once a day.

UPDATE 4-20-15: I've noticed in the Swanson monthly catalog as well as their web site that this product has gone through a price change. It use to be $12.99 in the catalog but is now $14.99. That is in the powdered form (not capsules).

When I was younger, my mom would always make me drink miracle greens, and I enjoyed making fruit smoothies and adding a few scoops of greens to the mixture. Swanson's greens are just as tasty as "macro greens" and "miracle greens," and better priced. Some greens are very sweet, which is not enjoyable; but these have a more subtle, earthy taste, which I prefer. I sometimes mix these in a blender bottle almost full of water and sometimes with a little juice or nectar for flavor. It does smell a little like seaweed, but I don't think it tastes like it. You can also mix it in a smoothie with spinach and berries if that's what you prefer. I will keep buying this product.

This is a great product. I use it every day in either a breakfast or lunchtime smoothie. It doesn't have a bitter or funny taste and YES...I have more energy after taking it. I will definitely reorder this product again.

I love putting this green powder in my protein shakes. It makes them an ugly color, but they taste good and I know they are healthy!

But I feel like the Green Vibrance works better. I don't know I just felt like it tasted better too. NOt that any of them taste good really. I gave it a shot but I haven't been consistent with it.

Don't think I'll re-order but don't let that sway you. You should definitely try it for yourself.
