Ryland Taggart—college freshman, lesbian, and Star Trek aficionado—just wanted the free trip to Italy, courtesy of her dangerously impractical botany professor. But when their research on a Tuscan farm finds an inexplicable disease killing off the crops, Ryland gets something she absolutely didn't want: nightly dreams starring the ghost of the 19th-century Tuscan bandit-king, Domenico Tiburzi, pleading with her to save the land.
"You must follow the green ray," he implores.
When she is given an 1883 edition of Jules Verne's The Green Ray, accompanied by a photo of a mysterious, unnamed woman, Ryland takes up Tiburzi’s challenge. She embarks on a cross-European odyssey to uncover a tragic love story buried since the last days of World War II, and in the process, find out how the farm's destiny is entwined with her own.
This is the first prose/music production from The Pork Chop Express (www.theporkchopexpress.com). Included at no extra charge with this book is a full original music soundtrack. Instructions on how to download the album are located at the very end of the book.

With an unusual but gripping writing style, the different settings are brought to life in a way that makes the reader reluctant to leave the magic of each stage of the tour but yet drawn forward by the unfolding mystery.
The gripping story line is supported with a sensitive development of Ryland's own personal journey of self-discovery.
While the book may be written for a young adult audience, the maturer reader will also find this to be an enjoyable and thought provoking read.
