As you've heard, this is a device used for filtering smoke, both the physical gas as well as the odor caused by it. Whether you're using it for cigarette smoke or pot smoke, this will do the job.

Good little smoke buddy and a little smaller than the regular, though I'd recommend the full size as its only a few bucks more and lasts twice as long. I would advise not using the cap that comes with it. Capping the ends will only keep moisture in and lower the smoke buddy's life span.

I've owned a couple of these and wanted to find a way to clean out the filter inside after it gets clogged. I tried opening one up with tools, but this is designed so you can't open it, so it'll just break the plastic. That did show me how the inside is made with the carbon bag filter and the mesh air filter. This led to me experimenting on how to clean it out without opening it up, and I successfully did so with the following method:

Once you reach the point where it's hard to blow through, use that cap that comes with it, cap one end, fill up the smoke buddy with isopropyl alcohol, cap the other end, and shake it vigorously for a minute then let it sit and soak. It will probably leak out but keep the cap on and any residual isopropyl in there to clean out the resinous tar buildup inside. You can also stick it in a small bag or container with the isopropyl alcohol and seal it so it doesn't evaporate and does a better job. After 8-16 hours of soaking, remove the caps and run hot water through it. You'll see the isopropyl and water will be all black and brown from the resin coming out. Shake it out good to get as much of the water out as you can, then blow out through the bottom end as hard as you can to push the water. Here's the quick but hard part: it won't fully dry out on its own because of the filters in it and it's design, so you can either do a bag of white rice or put it in the microwave for 10 seconds. Any longer in the microwave and the plastic will melt though so be careful. If it still feels hard to blow through after this, let it completely cool off and repeat another 10 seconds in the microwave. Another suggestion is to use vinegar after doing these steps. Soak it in vinegar the same as with the isopropyl alcohol, then microwave out any moisture. The vinegar helps to dissolve the tar and does amazing work with the smell, restoring it back to a like-new state.

You do this and your smoke buddy will last 5 times as long. Happy smoking!

Vapers - this thing is the BEST

If you vape and are trying to keep from annoying others, or would like to vape in public spaces such as the movie theater, a restaurant, or even a plane, this is the gadget you need. Take a big hit, blow through this, and like magic - NOTHING comes out the other side. My only gripe is that they don't last more than a few months... the filter gets full and then you can't blow freely through them anymore. This would be fine if you could open it up and clean or replace the inner filter, but there's no way to get in there. So you have to dump it and buy a new one. It's just not green/good for the environment.

Hint hint - if the maker is reading this... make us a version that opens and charge us for the filter replacements... or just charge a bit more for the unit and make a washable filter... be good to the world.

Great sploof, but only for a short while...

As a smoker, I got tired of making my own sploofs with plastic containers and activated charcoal. I decided to buy this because I heard it described as "the cheaper sploofy".
Based on single purchase, this costs less than a container of activated charcoal you would buy from the pet store. This smoke buddy Junior being just over $8 And a container of activated charcoal being roughly $12.
It's actually pretty small too, so it's highly concealable; it fits in my hand and for reference I've attached a picture of it next to a PlayStation 4 controller.
Does it work? Yes it actually does; albeit, based on the size if probably isn't going to last for very long. That's probably where these will get more expensive in the long run as opposed to the sploofy or making your own sploof; they're going to clog quicker and the filter is not replaceable.

That being said it's still a damn good product.

If you/re a smoker of any kind and live with non-smokers and are a courteous and thoughtful person, this lil gadget will make a huge difference in your life. I use this when traveling. I also only use a vape pen or e-pen when i travel. This is the only way i can medicate with total secrecy. No one will know anything. I think some vapor has a smell despite that it is vapor and not smoke, this eliminates any guessing. I can safely use my e-pen almost anywhere. This is a big deal to me. Medicate as needed without judgement.

I thought I'd be throwing away another $10.00 on keeping smoke away from others products...I was wrong... Because in the last 30some years I've found NOTHING that works til now ! It's amazing. Wish I would have bought more....but I'll get more next month as long as it keeps working like it has today !

I had to make an edit...so excited about it working...I forgot that if up to me I would change 2 things. 1. The end caps-they need to be attached to the unit somehow so they don't get lost. 2. Needs a place to attach a Carbineer or key chain to...if those 2 things were done-i think this would be a PERFECT PRODUCT-dont get me wrong-its damn close to perfect now as is.
