Works great but brittle hollow plastic rod will break pretty easily over time. Still, probably the best of it's kind available.

One of the features I looked for in a trimmer was the ability to bend the cutter so that I could trim the top of the hedge, as well. I really like the pivoting head positions, and it even has one reverse pivot detent so that you can trim a concave area easily. Very dexterous. As you can see from the picture attached, I was unable to trim the top of my hedge, but only because I don't have a tall enough ladder.
If I have one minor complaint, it is that the telescoping handle only extends a little bit. I could've used another 6" - 12" of reach. Perhaps that would've made it unwieldy, but I would have liked to decide that for myself. Otherwise, I have absolutely no complaints.
With regard to the other comments that have mentioned the two-handed safety switch feature: I was fully prepared to McGyver this thing to disable that "feature" if need be, but I found that it was not a problem to use at all. I'm really not sure what the complaint is. YMMV, but I found it OK.

I just used this for the first time to trim a laurel hedge that is 60' long and 18' high. This is a job I have dreaded every year when I had to trim it using hand shears. I have putting this job off because it always takes all day, and makes a huge mess. Finally, I decided to buy a power tool to see if that would make the job less dreadful, and after carefully considering gas vs electric vs battery powered, plus user reviews, I settled on the GreenWorks 22242 G-24. All I can say is that this thing performed as advertised, and actually exceeded my expectations for its performance. I was able to trim the side of my 60' long laurel hedge in just under an hour, and love the results. The battery never seemed to lose any juice, either, so it has plenty of power and life, even for a job of this size. I purchased this trimmer on July 2, 2018. After a few uses the plastic handle snapped where it joined the tool. I went through Amazon who referred me to the manufacturer. The manufacturer acknowledged receipt of my email where I requested a place to have the unit repaired. They have not responded after about a week. Apparently the manufacturer has no interest in dealing with the problem. Based on my experience GREENWORKS talks customer service to gain the sale but does not walk the walk!
