2• washed it water only. Soap will soak into your mortar & pestel since it's pourous.

Inspect your item for cracks,chips, and Defects. I own a marble one. Chips, cracks, and Defects can cause serious injury. As any tool should be periodically inspected, and stored propely
3• Season it.
So after washing. And drying. Pour some rice in your bowl. About 1/3 full or less. Grind it till it's a fine pouder. Throw away rice. Wash and dry. Repeat 3 times. It takes a hour or more to do this. Onto your fourth and last grind. Put 4 cloves of garlic (fresh garlic mashed up into a oily paste), Salt, and cummin. Grind that paste into all the working surface area. Finally, wash with warm water. Towel dry. And use.
Seasoning basically means to :
*This is not a definitive meaning. Just a loose guideline. I refer to youtube. Look at the videos which refer to your material. i.e. marble, granite, lava rock etc, etc... As seasoning concept will be similar, but different.😸

Lemon pulp with zest. You control pulpyness. The lemon zest mashes to a yellow thin paste that dissolves into your mash. I brewed hot tea. Poured it into a cup that was half filled with water. Added pulp. Gives tea texture. Texture and infusioning waters or juices. WOW. To think 🤔 people pay good money for that. And you have ultimate control. Clean up is easy. Wash, rinse. Towel dry.
If you mash and pound. Don't clank items together. They may break. Start softly and gradually increase pressure. Keep mashing or grinding till you find that consistencey. Enjoy 😸

Was sent used product, won’t wash out.

I was sent a used pestle and mortar. When I pulled it out of the box it had brown powder stuck to the sides. It looked like someone used it and sent it back. I then tried to wash it, considering keeping it despite its previous use, however whatever was ground in it won’t come out. The marble has deep lines in it from being cut by machinery. It’s a horrible design. Sending back. Extremely angry I was sent dirty product.

DIRTY, DEFECTIVE, RETURNED

When opened up it was FILTHY! In the picture you can see a few of the cobwebs and dirt left behind...I got most of them out due to having to kill a spider!!! The bottom is not smooth at all and has so many ridges and sharp grooves and what appears to possibly be industrial glue? I put it right back in the box and returned. Glad the spider was only a tiny black one.

Solo se usó un par de veces y se quebró por la mitad. No sufrió caídas ni fue golpeado con fuerza excesiva, solo el uso normal de triturar nueces. Aparentaba ser de buena calidad y de hecho el tazón es muy pesado para su tamaño tan pequeño pero el bastón es notorio que está hecho de un comprimido de algún material terroso o resina y no se trata de una pieza sólida. El costo de $393 MXN es muy alto para la baja resistencia y calidad del producto.

Also there seems a tiny patch work done to cement a defect which is visible on the surface. But I'm OK with it as it is small and doesn't affect the overall function. Greenco Marble Mortar and pestle is an above average product and smaller than i expected. Marble is heavy, well polished and does the job.
