Crimps F-style terminals quite well, as long as they're the right size. I may need to get their 2097 (the D-sub die) for some smaller terminals for rectangular connections, but this one crimps larger terminals quite nicely. It's nearly ideally suited for automotive terminals (I've been making quite a few OBD-II connectors lately and it's been a breeze with this die).

Works perfectly to crimp open barrel terminals for 12awg wire, crimping both the wire and the insulation at the same time. Also works ok for anderson powerpole connectors (better than my cheap crimp tool at least), although the wider crimp surface of one of the specialty APP crimpers will give better results. Fits a Paladin/Greenlee 8000 series handle with no problems.

This was a replacement for a tool die that was lost, which I had used many times. I haven't used the new one yet, but it appears identical in every way to the old one. I have the Paladin 1300 crimping pliers which do an ok job, depending on the die and specific application. This die works very well for the common quick disconnect terminals used in furnaces and other appliances, however you have to be careful about using the right slot and orienting the connector (with wire in place) just right in the tool, as well as setting the right tension on the tool adjustment (which can only be done through trial and error, but you get a feel for it after a while), otherwise the crimp will not hold or will fatigue the connector causing later failure while in use. I have used other crimping systems in the past that were not as finnicky, but they were designed by the manufacturer to be used on only one type of connector made by that manufacturer. The 1300 is designed to be used with different dies on wide ranges of connectors, so it is probably inevitable that it doesn't fit every connector exactly. Again, this die works very well on the connectors for which it is designed, but other Paladin dies tend to be a bit hit or miss. I have even had to do some fine grinding with a dremel tool to get some of them to work right.
