The book falls into two parts, the story of a young woman through adolescent and young womanhood experiencing a larger than average list of issues through training, working and her OE, and a shorter portion which is little more than an epilogue, dealing with present day issues. This second part did not capture me as closely as the "main" section of the book, but I'm sure contains issues which Sugrue thinks are important to be dealt with. Molly was somewhat "green" as she dealt with the "grey" areas of life, but because it's a novel, all the outcomes are very satisfactory under the circumstances, but there's a lot to get the reader thinking and inspire discussion with fellow readers. Don't expect an ecological story. There are lots of shades of green other than the ecological stance. Thank you Rosalie Sugrue for making me think!
