This net lists as a fish tank net.. which It would be good for Scooping out fish and such but I am not sure if it will be of much use if you plan to use it to pick up gravel. I have been searching for a good turtle tank net and this does not work for my desired purposes. This item works well to clean out floating debris in the tank but I mainly use my nets to move the small rocks around in the bottom of the tank. The net size itself is good but The handle does not lock so when i try to lift up pebbles, The telescoping handle merely retracts into itself. When I am able to lift up some rocks and try to move them inside of the tank the handle just spins around making it impossible to drop the rocks without taking the whole net out of the water and removing the rocks from the net manually. If I am having problems with being able to lift the small rocks. I would assume the same problem would arise if you were trying to scoop out gravel. If you’re only scooping out fish or debris floating in the tank this is a good net.

This is so handy! We have a 4 tiered ground fountain and have a big problem with leaves, flower petals and so on getting in it. I had a regular fish tank net, and besides it not being long enough to scoop without bending over, I think one of the raccoons that visit our backyard stole it. We now have this “hooked” to the wall next to the fountain. Works exactly as I’d hoped.
