In all, I think it's a well thought out, well researched and interesting look at who we are as people with romantic notions. I'm not totally sure I agree with some of the more stereotypical thoughts on women and male sex roles as I think there's more to it than one side or the other. However, its a very fascinating read and a great peek into the psychological behaviors behind love.
People at every stage in life are looking for love, and Araman's research addresses it. I love that he says near the beginning that we have to take back the control of our love life by adding more magic to our love lives. This isn't necessarily about the physical chemistry about a relationship, but in our interactions, conversations and more. I love how Araman talks about different stages in a relationship -- being in a long term relationship myself -- I find that I have to do more work now that ever to make my relationship meaningful and what I want for forever.
I took off a star because I felt some of this was a bit old-fashioned and not up to date with what gender roles are these days. I didn't like being told at one point that I should go shopping, wear earrings and daydream to increase my femininity. Also, while I really understood Araman's discussion on women sexually pleasing their men to be emotionally connected (from a man's standpoint), I felt it wasn't pointed out that men should not expect women to give their partner oral sex to be connected.
