Griffin survivor journey case's super slim, snap-on Shell is built to prevent damage from 6.6-Foot (2-meter) drops onto concrete. Journey's shatter-resistant multi-layer Shell deflects and absorbs impacts to keep the phone safe. Journey's molded-in impact dispersion system cushions the phone inside the case.

But I don't want to compromise fast access and display quality. So I opt for protective fitted cases and glass screen protectors. I have found the glass screen protectors to provide much more clarity, better touch response, and better scratch and breakage protections.
My S5 has suffered through 2 years of daily abuse. When I took off the scratched and cracked glass protector ( S5 SCREEN PROTECTOR, NUE DESIGNS TM [Samsung Galaxy S5 SM-G900] - 9h Hardness Premium Tempered Glass Screen Protector Real Explosion-Proof/Anti-Scratch/Anti-Shatter/Oleophobic Coating/Ultra Clear [1-Pack ]) and scuffed case (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00I3UWD40/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1) the phone looked brand new.
I usually go for the heaviest fittest cases lile the Otterbox Defender or Spigen Tough Armor for maximum protection when I fling my phone through the air onto concrete. The 7 Edge posed a problem though because everyone said with the curved screen only plastic screen protectors would fit with the fitted cases.
I checked around and it looked like this case, the Griffen Survivor, and the glass Wonshop Galaxy S7 Edge Screen Protector, Wonshop Galaxy S7 Edge Screen Protector, 3D Tempered Glass with 9H Hardness Full Coverage Ultra HD Clear Anti-Bubble Scratch Proof Military Grade Screen Cover - Black might work together, but not for everyone.
I opted to have the screen protector installed at a phone repair shop for a very small fee. I don't want any dust bubbles at all under the display and I have found it time consuming and quite difficult to accomplish with the glass protectors. Plus I have been told the curved glass protectors are difficult to install. In this case I also knew the protector had to be installed very accurately for the body case to go on without cracking the glass protector. I advised the shop of the case fitting issue and five minutes later I had the phone back, no dust, a perfect fit to the phone and the case.
Compared to the Spigen Tough Armour (or Otterbox Defender, Griffen Summit / Adventure cases, not yet available for the 7 edge) this is thinner and less protective, but it does provide some protection and most importantly fits with the screen protector. Scratching or cracking the screen is the most likely damage for me so the screen protection is the highest priority. It's also nice with this very thin phone to have a slim case which makes it easier to handle and pocket this large phone. Induction charging works well too, another plus for the slimmer style case.
A final plus for the thinner case is I often wonder about heat dissipation. The electronics have to be passively cooled through the phone body and the case, so a thinner case should mean lower operating temperatures and less chance of failure. [Written days before Samsung took the exploding Note 7 off the market]. The 7 Edge has internal liquid cooling that seems to diffuse heat to the case, which is already insulted with glass (so no hot spots). A fitted case is going to raise the internal temperature by some amount hopefully small. Given the problems with the similar Note 7 it might be prudent to avoid using the phone intensively in very hot places and to remove the case if it feels hot. I believe the environmental temperature is much more important than the extra insulation of a slim plastic case in keeping the phone cool. (The screen protector itself is on the front, while the heat radiator seems to be against the back of the case, so it should not have a big effect on cooling.)
The fit and finish of the Griffen are terrific. It fits the phone perfectly including all the cut-outs and all the buttons work perfectly. (The touch response is the same as without the screen protector too). It fits with the protector very precisely- there are short 0.5 mm gaps between the body protector and the screen protector only at the corners (which is why you can put on the case without cracking the glass protector). The case pops on and off easily but is secure.
There are slightly raised bumpers along short edges of the front of the body case just high enough so that if you put the phone face down on a flat surface it won't touch (I am guessing 2 mm clearance vs only 1 mm clearance with my S5 setup).
The cut-out for the rear camera lens and led has nice edging so it looks built-in. The lens is deeply recessed for protection but I can't see any vignetting in the image.
There are extra thick rubber bumpers at the corners, which is a likely place for the phone to land and cause damage.
I do notice reflections more with the glass protector on, maybe because I am looking for them, but I opted for a protector without an anti-glare coating. The anti-glare coatings have to slightly blur the display and alter the colors. You can always decrease reflections by rotating the phone, shielding it from light sources, or going to a darker place, but you can not get rid of the blur from an anti-glare coating.
I like the gray color of the body case and its slightly textured surface makes for an easier grip than then phone itself. Since the back of the phone is also glass it's also good to protect it from scratching.
I am writing this review because it took a long time for me to find out how to get good protection for this phone without compromising performance. Why four stars? The case provides a specified "6 feet" of drop protection vs. 8 and 10 for the other Griffin models not available for the 7 Edge at the time of this review.

It came in a beautifully presented box and does a fantastic job. All ports (and the edge of the screen!) is accessible, unlike many other cases I have tried. Would recommend highly for all S7 Edge Users!
