About the Author

Great Book, Ruth! I loved it. And the cover is definitely clever,
This novel was supplied by the author and no remuneration was involved in the writing of this review.
My favourite scene was the impromptu date at the movies -- the hero's erstwhile attempts to gain the heroine's favour, and her feisty resistance, are nothing less than perfect. The back-and-forth banter reminds me of the courtship of Gilbert Blythe and Anne of Green Gables. Hartman has a direct line into my youthful daydreams about being an independent woman and falling in love.
I also really liked the details of professional practice that were worked into this romance. I will never look at my dentist in the same way again -- in fact, I may have to buy her a copy of this book! Hartman's knowledge and love of the field -- and cats -- is palpable in her work. It's always a joy when you see the passion a writer has for her own family and profession coming through in her work.
Thanks, Ruth -- you made the everyday extraordinary, today.
