Review

“Pulos, of Bravo's reality series Flipping Out, charms in this frank and self-deprecating cross between memoir and how-not-to guide....She isn't shy about revealing her personal life--like the breakup of her first marriage on national TV or a humiliating encounter with a negative former teacher while working at a grocery store--which only serves to make her more appealing and relatable. Pulos's central message in this encouraging volume is one that anyone would be smart to heed: when you're going through hell, keep on going, because everything works out in the end. ” ―Publishers Weekly

I received my copy of Grin and Bear It in the mail yesterday and read this book in one night! Jenni is so open in this very honest and down to earth memoir. Unlike a lot of celebrity books, I learned so much about how to deal with challenging times. There are real take always throughout the book. Plus, it's really funny, I laughed out loud many times! It's refreshing to find a reality star who is REAL! We'll written, fast paced, emotional and funny,

At first, I started reading and was bored. Once Jenni started revealing her own flaws, self-discovery and insight to how life works for her; I couldn't put the book down. Interesting inspirational and informative....you won't find any trash talk or secrets about Jeff Lewis if that's what you're looking for in this book.

Although I love watching Jenni exercise her patience with her boss Jeff on their television show on Bravo, I found this book written for an eight year old and very saccharine. If this book cost $2.99 and I was looking for something to encourage me to go to bed, I would purchase it.

Obsessed with this books humor and thoughtful outlooks on how to bloom where you're planted.

It truly helped me realize that you need to enjoy the journey, embrace the ride and be glad you don't work for Jeff Lewis.

I bought this book thinking it would be a good read as I'm a fan of both Flipping Out and Interior Therapy. I actually couldn't put it down! The stories told were entertaining and the book gave inspiration to those who feel down and out. I highly recommend.

This book wasn't bad overall. I had only one question about it though. As an avid watcher of Flipping Out, I remember when Jeff Lewis confronted Jenni about her honeymoon, the episode was called Cabotgate, anyway, Jeff clearly stated that Jenni asked Tommy Shaw to play at her wedding and he went on to say that that isn't something that he would do being the lead member of Styx. So, I was confused when Jenni said that Jeff arranged for Tommy to play at the wedding and how touched she was by that gesture. If that was in fact the case, then why would the TV show say something completely opposite? Other than that, wasn't bad.

As a stand alone book about life this book had little new to offer. You must have had to seen the show Flipping Out to really appreciate Jenni's struggles. This weekend I am going to binge watch her shows and see if it all makes more sense!.
