Works as advertised, EASY to control!!! EASY to maintain, change pads, etc. OH, and definitely use their polish, it washes out with water and no mess. I had black rubber mess all over my pads in addition to the polish and it came out with running water.
Balanced and natural
Comes with instructions that really deliver what they promise to. So many times you buy stuff that comes with a "perfect world" scenario in the instructions that you just can't seem to replicate, well, not Griot's. What they did on the videos is exactly what I did in real life.
Complete so far: (using #3 polish, yellow pads, orange pads, and rubber restore

It's also a fairly industrial product. Build quality is higher than my Porter Cable cordless tools. I ran it for twenty minutes at a time with short breaks. It heated up a bit, but didn't stop, slow down, or make untoward sounds. Lake Country 6.5" pads have the perfect amount of overhang.
A few caveats: it's noisy. There's a high-pitched overtone to the motor sound akin to a circular saw that had me reaching for earplugs. It's not hugely objectionable and you could probably do without, but prudence never hurts. The power switch is finicky to turn off. The speed switch is recessed into the back of the unit and requires you to stop what you're doing to adjust it. It really should be on right side of the unit where your hand would be.
All that said, I consider this the best random orbital polisher in this price class. It's significantly more powerful (7 amps) than the Porter Cable 7424XP (4.5 amps) or Meguiar's DA (4.2 amps) and has a lifetime warranty. This Griot is periodically on sale for $100 or less; make a deal alert on Slickdeals with the word 'Orbital' and you'll eventually find one of the three for a song.
Combined with a hook-and-loop bristle pad and basic cleaning solution, this is an incredible carpet-cleaning machine. I've also used it with a heavy cutting compound to clean a tub.
A light cutting pad (typically orange in color) with Meguiars M205 will correct MOST scratches and paint imperfections. Use Meguiars M105 and maybe a light cutting pad (typically yellow in color) to fix deeper scratches or for going over wet sanding marks. After the M205, I go straight to a finishing pad (typically black in color) to apply Liquid Glass or Collinite #845... after this hazes, I use a terry cloth bonnet to remove it. DONE! The car is good for the year.
I also use this orbital to polish small items. I clamp the orbital into a desktop vice to hold it and run the small parts across the pad by hand.

Great buffer. Used it a few times now and have zero complaints about this one.
Chose this one over the Meguires buffer due to the price.
What a great budget orbital machine. I get great results with this. Get the one with the longer cord, its worth the money.Published 16 months ago by dave
Works great except that their orange foam applicators continue to instantly come apart. They guarantee them but for the cost to send the torn up one to them I didn't bother the... Read morePublished 18 months ago by Mark

Nice for small spots like around bumpers, sunroof. Dislike: Loud for a small orbital (can't hear the radio, so I use foam earplugs).Published 20 months ago by Chessie Trotline
Why did I even buy this thing? This is one of my least used tools.Published 21 months ago by BigBen
