This was a nice read. The story line read well. I could visualize the characters.

Ranger Rod Nolan who runs the Ranger Station in the Silver Peak District of the Sierra Nevada Mountains took himself to the highest peaks to give his bear a good run, romp and play, along with some fishing the bear way.
Sara had signed up for a six-month stint of field work recording wildlife. Tracking their movements and seeing if there were any young.
While Sara was about her job, she came across the antics of a brown bear further down the mountain. As Sara watched she noticed several characteristics that didn't match the California Black Bear, even though some of the black bears can actually be brown. So Sara grabbed her binoculars to get a better look at the bear, sure enough Sara had come across the only Grizzly Bear in California for almost 100 years.
Sara ran to her bag and grabbed her camera and her tranq gun. Her camera wasn't working and she didn't have her phone, no cell service. Sara didn't want the bear to get away but she had no way to contact the crew to come and pick up the bear so she decided it was best to tag the grizzly. Sara used 2 tranq darts, not knowing how much she would need for the two-ton bear. Sara raced down the hill and placed the bright orange tag in the bear's ear. With no idea how long the tranq would last she got out of there.
When Rod woke up he remembered his hip hurting and his ear. He also remembered seeing a lady at the top of the ridge as he was headed back to his truck. He felt the sting and went right to sleep. Now he raced back to his truck, he had no idea what was done to him. If she took a blood or hair sample or anything else, his fears were that they would start hunting the Grizzly down again and exterminate them.
When Rod got back to his truck he started to get dressed. As he pulled his shirt over his head his ear was excruciating so he looked in the mirror and saw a bright orange tag in his ear. He'd been tagged which meant she didn't have the equipment to insert a digital tag, the only thing Rod was thankful for. Rod tried to cut off as much of the tag as he could then pulled on a beanie cap to cover his ear completely.
Rod headed straight for his brothers house to get him to remove the tag. Dan, his brother, spent a good amount of time bent over and laughing so hard he had tears rolling down his cheeks. When Dan could contain himself he tried all of the tools he had and wasn't able to remove the tag. There was no way Rod could sneak into the Ranger Station and retrieve the tool need for the job.
Dan's wife Andi came home and took note of the situation then she too began to laugh at Rods ability to let himself get tagged. However, as she continued to laugh Andi headed inside to get something that would remove the bolt and Rod was left with a hole in his ear.
The next day Rod went for another bear run, he had to work off all of his anger and frustration. As he came to the lake he found a set of clothing setting on the ground. They sort of smelled familiar but he couldn't place it. Suddenly Rod heard someone splashing around in the water and it looked like the same lady. Sara thought she had found another grizzly as this one had no tag. She treaded water for as long as she could hoping the bear would leave, but no. Sara swam a few yards up the lake and got out, when she came around the large boulder she saw that the bear had moved off a little ways and had taken her blouse with him and was shredding it.
Sara dressed slowly so as not to startle the bear. She also spoke very softly to him. The she took out her phone and began taking a video of the grizzly instantly the grizzly stood up on his hind legs, he must have been eight-nine feet tall. Then Sara noticed that the grizzly was moving and not away, he was coming after her and a little too quickly for Sara.
This is a cute book. There is only one thing I have a problem with but it's too far into the book to reveal but I still enjoyed reading it.

new park ranger rod nola doesn't know what happened to him as he wakes up, unsteady on his beary paws. only when he's dressed again and in his truck does he notice the bright orange tag that is making his ear throb with a dull pain.
how does he get rid of it and how can he hide that mark it will leave for a short time!
then there's the question as to who was able to tag him. the presence of grizzly bears can't be knows, he wants them to stay under the radar to live in peace with nature and fellow bearshfters.
rod knows he can't let things just slide, he has to find the person responsible for tagging him and what also turns out to be the person that has his bear on high lustful alert!
how will sara react when she gets surprised again by a grizzly in the park?
a sweet tittelating story that lets you dream away for a few moments! loved it!
