Product Description

Since the first day grizzly started we have been using these maple workbench tops in our shipping and service departments. we estimated that we have over 200 tops in use and expected them to be in service probably for the next 50 years. our workbench tops are made of solid 1 3/4-Inch use grown hard rock (sugar) maple strips that are laminated to each other and then coated with food-safe Durakryl finish. the tops bottoms and all edges are sealed and the appearance is clear satin smooth low sheen and natural in color. there is no odor to the finish and they can be cleaned like any other counter surface using soap and water bleach or nail polish remover. build your own workbench using our excellent selection of tops. our optional adjustable shop fox legs are extremely heavy-duty allowing you to customize your workbench size according to your needs.

I like the thickness, and smoothness of it. The only thing is there are no other color that was available and it is a little pricey. But other than that, I'm satisfied with it. I used it as a top for the base cabinet that I'm using as a laundry cabinet.

This is a great quality piece of wood that I used to cover a glass induction stove top after my last one broke. It's got a bit of weight to it, so I put a few handles on the outsides and some adjustable feet on the bottom, which allows me to ensure that it's level. By placing it over the glass stove top, I've instantly gained a lot of counter space and it's solid enough that I don't have to worry about it breaking under the weight of almost anything I can think of. In addition, it looks great and even my sister (who is critical of my artistic/design abilities) thinks it's great.

- Heavy (and heavy duty)
- Easily adapted to my situation with minimal woodwork required

Cons:
- A bit heavy, especially if you're going to move it around at all like my girlfriend and I do.
- More expensive than I would have thought, but reasonable compared to butcher's block or similar wood tabletops

Overall, can't be happier.

This is an awesome butcher block. I wanted it to use as a top for a workbench; I bought a craftsman toolbox and added this as a top. To make it fit I had to cut it, but it was very easy to cut, using my 7" circular saw. The quality is really nice - this would be great in a kitchen as well. It's pretty enough to use as a countertop of extremely large cutting board. I intend to use the part I cut off as a cutting board. I have been researching a lot of butcher blocks lately, and this was the most reasonable charge - especially considering how thick it is.

Excellent price - highly recommended.

I actually ordered this piece to place on top of one of those stainless steel rolling carts for my kitchen. It arrived with good packing however two of the corner plastic pieces used to protect the board were cracked and there was a dent in the cutting board. However I did not really mind as it is going into a rustic kitchen and a lot of my new maple countertops are recently aged anyway. This is so heavy and such a great quality. The seams are done perfectly and the finish is flawless. I would definitely order this for my shop dye to low price but find it absolutely perfect for a high and kitchen. I paid my carpender a substantial amount of money to create maple counter tops for me and this piece was just as good. I would say to the manufacturer that they should offer the option of unfinished. Personally I would have liked to age mine a bit more and coat with tung oil.

These are nice solid maple countertops. I ordered two and they are both attractive, solid and well put together (no gaps or cracks). Packaging was excellent. They shipped out quickly. I ordered two drop-down brackets to attach one top to the end of a kitchen island to extend it for eating, but the weight of the top is substantial. When I get the brackets I'll have to judge if perhaps three brackets might be more appropriate. One top is slightly darker than the other top, but since only one is for the island I have no problem with that. All said, I think you can't ask for a better product for the price. IKEA's aren't solid maple and these are thicker.

Great price on a great piece of wood! I actually ordered this piece for a self-installed butcher block counter top. If it weren't for the fact that there were a couple dents (slight, but just noticeable enough) on the edges that would be the front or back, I would have rated it with 5 stars. I'm sure, if this were for an actual work bench, it would be absolutely perfect! But, as a counter top piece, I was forced to turn it around to the side that seemed to have a slightly less noticeable dent than the other. The color is fantastic, the finish is fine (I did add my own oil as additional protection anyway, since I'm using this for a bar area). But one other note to keep it from being a 5 star item is that I thought I might be able to flip the board at some point (if needed), but it would NOT be possible (as a counter top piece) because there is a stamp on the bottom that would have to be painted over to cover up... Which, of course, would completely negate the point of having the butcher block style. Still, I WOULD recommend this item!

I have used this as a floating vanity that is supported by wall brackets. I have a glass bowl sink and stainless faucet. My designer reused the depth a little with a circular saw (The offcut was used as a matching shelf). The top is perfectas a vanity, allowing me to sit in a chair next to it if necessary. It looks very stylish over the slate tile floor of the bathroom. Contrary to some concerns about needing a support under the top, it has turned out to be very sturdy indeed. The finish is nicely resistant to the usual bathroom materials and is easy to keep clean. I'm very happy I found this as a solution for a vanity top.

Beautiful wood, well made. I bought it to make a small counter top for a kitchen cabinet I built. I had to cut it to size and round the edges. The top looks great and I ended up making two cutting boards out of the scrap. Please note that because these boards are maple and very thick you really need to know what you are doing if you decide to cut one. A normal table saw will not be able to handle the cut. Don't even think of using an electric hand saw.
