I think I've ordered some of just about every brand of those clear-white ones, with consistently variable results. If I have to move any of them, it's a 50:50 chance that I can get them off intact - otherwise I need to cut them.
These, on the other hand, are absolutely consistent. They snap together perfectly, and come apart perfectly. I'm just about through my first 100, and have not had one stubborn one yet.

These are my new favorite gardening accessory! Better than twine because you don't need scissors, and you don't have to cut or untie them to reposition. Better than soft ties, which are great for larger plants but can be heavy & weigh down delicate, young plants. Better than Velcro because, again, no scissors & they are reusable. I have found that Velcro gets brittle & has to be thrown away after a year in the sun. Twist ties also require cutting and can easily damage plants with their thin wires. I also love the brown color. It doesn't draw attention to itself, detracting from the beauty of your plants. At the same time, it is easy to see when you check your plants to make sure nothing needs to be repositioned. Speaking of repositioning – unsnap, move, snap. It takes all of five seconds! Lastly, price- 100 for nine bucks! Great, especially given that they are reusable. If you're debating between various tying options just stop and order these. I wasted a ridiculous amount of time reading reviews and finally got sick of it and made the dumbest choice- one of everything! But with a variety of choices before me I always grab these first.

I've been using this type of clip on my greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers for years. It was time to get some new ones this year as they break over time, and I looked at the wide variety on offer here. These weren't the cheapest, but had good reviews and thought I'd give them a try. Got them and I'm very happy with them, seem very similar to the ones I've been using and reusing for the last 5-6 years, nice and solid, plus the lock is secure but easy to open for reuse or repositioning. Can't talk about the giant hi-def screen or the amazing sound with these, but for what they are they do a great job.

These clips seem to be made of a better plastic than the semi-clear ones. I did not find any broken and it came with 108 pieces while advertised for 100. They have two plastic tabs at the hinge that make them better suited for attaching your twine, while the semi-clears ones do not. For a dollar more, you can get 300 pieces of the semi-clear clips although actual count is more like 290 due to either missing/broken pieces. I'm currently just using these by clipping vines/stems to bamboo stakes or wire fencing so attaching twine is not needed. Inner diameter is about 1 inch and price at purchase was $10. Do not know the long term durability of either, but I did do a simple twist test for the hinge and both held up without breaking. Recommend these (brown) for using with twine, otherwise go for the better value of the semi-clear clips.

These are just what they say they are. Twine clips. They hold the twine tightly and don't slip up and down. Study enough to hold lots of tomatoes. (the more tomatoes on the vine, the tighter spacing of the clips. I have never had one break. They are easy to remove and season end to reuse another year. The clear kind appear to be single season use, they get brittle by the end of the year. These are 2 year clips... or possibly more. Very happy with them.

These are much stronger than the other brands. They’re also a little larger so they can be used to clip a branch to a trellis if running a string is not convenient. When using with string/garden twine, as intended, they are also superior to other brands because you can clasp the string/twine using one hand because the little teeth are larger and the hinge is built better. Since the hinge is built so much better you can also open and reposition clip as needed. Okay I don’t think any of that is going to make a lot of sense if you’ve not tried this style of clip. I do know that I bought both these (the terra cotta/brown ones) and the other brands (any clear/white/ huge package cheap price) and there is no competition. Buy these even though the price feels like you are wasting your money.

For everyone buying the clear tomato clips, just stop-you won't be able to reuse them

I kept buying the clear plastic clips for so long. But I kept finding them in my compost bin, in the soil, or I could not get them off the plant so I clipped them off and threw them away. It made me feel bad to waste the plastic. These brown plastic clips are easy to take on and off. If they fall to the ground they area easy to find because of the brown color. But best of all they are pretty strong and I can reuse them year after year-which is my goal with any plastic product. So pay a little more for these and keep them forever. I am using them on my tomatoes, zinnias, cukes, etc.

No more trying to wind the twine around the tomato plants. Just run one length of twine from the top of a trellis to the ground and clip these around the twine and the stalk. A little more expensive than other brands I looked at but the reviews for those said they broke easily and there were a lot of them that were already broken out of the pack. These seem very sturdy and I expect I'll get years of use. Of all the methods I've used to tie up tomatoes over the years, this is by far the best. Liked them so well that I bought a second pack of 100 a couple of weeks later.
