Editorial Reviews

Review

"...an essential guide for current and future group work practice."--Social Work With Groups

"...a useful tool for social work educators and practitioners. The volume would make an excellent companion reader for a course in group work and would communicate to students the breadth of application of group work techniques in practice. The book would also be of use to group work practitioners who are interested in expanding their work with specific populations at risk. The chapters are short, well written and referenced, and geared toward practitioners need for specific knowledge."--Families in Society

I had to buy this book for my social work with groups class. I haven't read too much yet, just a few chapters but it is a good, informative book on working with groups, and each chapter goes into specific types of groups/populations. It doesn't however include all groups I'd be interested in.

Please, please consider enabling the text-to-speech feature! I commute 200 miles round-trip to school, and I LISTEN to my chapters while I am commuting. Also, there are individuals with disabilities that would benefit from being able to listen to this textbook, as well as students who are AUDIO learners. Please!

Book arrived in excellent timing. Bought for class, it adds to current books. The materials blend very well with current curriculum.

Thank you for your fast service and the quality of the book. In that you said it was a new book and it came as a new book. Unfortunately in the past, I've ordered books that they have advertised as "new" but came all beaten up and written in as well!

This is a great book in helping with learning how to work with various populations and starting groups. This is a required book for school and it was at a very reasonable price compared to the school bookstore price.
