I have replaced the tuners on three of my ukulele's with Grover Sta-Tite's. They are in my opinion the best friction tuners available. The instruments stay in tune but when they need to be tuned the tuners are easy to move and don't stick. Easy to install on most instruments although you may have to drill out the holes if they are older or cheap tuners that you are replacing. People who claim that geared tuners are better than friction tuners have never had a set of these on their instrument.

My favorite uke came supplied with overly complicated tuners. The thing about overly complicated pieces, no matter what they are, they share a few things. They're doing too much and they're too heavy. In my case, these tuners made the headstock of my uke too headstock heavy, which makes playing more work than it needed to be.

To get the the point of this review, these Grovers were just what I needed to keep me in-tune and to keep the instrument better balanced. They're slightly more budget-oriented than the comparable Waverlys, which I kinda-sorta wish I had bought, but there is nothing to complain about the quality of these tuners.
