I'm writing this review during the COVID-19 pandemic. So, this is a great time for the inspirational book and message! Everyone benefits from more kindness in this world, and this book gives both kids & adults alike some ideas about how to grow kind. My 8-year-old son really enjoyed it, but my older boys did as well. Grow Kind would be great for schools & and group reading as it provides plenty of rich material for discussion & education. It has wonderful illustrations too! Enjoy!

My almost 3 year old son really enjoys this book. It’s a great introduction to gardening, focuses on the way that we can help others, and includes diverse characters and families.

Grow Kind is another title published in conjunction with the American Psychological Association. These books address issues and subjects that will lead to positive growth for children.

In this title, that is colorfully and very cheerfully illustrated, a young girl learns about being kind to others. This is shown is several ways; there is allowing her older sister to sleep late, picking the bounty from a garden and sharing it with neighbors and classmates. The protagonist also gives food to someone who is standing by the road and is hungry.

As always, the story is followed by sections for adults that further enhance the lesson of the story and that help those who interact with children to understand their needs. I found this title to be another good entry in a good series.

Many thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for this title in exchange for an honest

I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This is a cute story about a girl who grows her own veggies and shares them with her family, friends, and neighbors.

Kiko is kind-hearted and generous, but she also learns to be patient when her older sister oversleeps. She wants to share her beautiful garden with her sister and she wants to share her garden's harvest with everyone. There are lots of manners used and kind gestures that really stand out and show the importance of kind behavior.

This sweet story will help children understand kindness, generosity, empathy, and understanding.

At the very end of the book, there is a very helpful note to parents and caregivers in easy to understand sections about how to use the book as well as tips and resources for how you and your child can practice kindness towards yourself and others.

This is a beautifully written story about sharing and giving to others in the name of kindness. It is making others feel good with a simple act of kindness of sharing food from the main character Kiko's garden. I loved the illustrations and the use of diversity in the book. This would be a great addition to a classroom for elementary students for an example of kindness and generosity. It shares many examples of whom the child shared with, including a homeless women. Well written!

I was able to read this through Netgalley, and it's a sweet book published jointly with the APA. The book follows Kiko, who uses her garden to spread kindness. It's easy to read, and the concepts are easy for younger minds to understand. I like that it includes a few pages at the end of the book that caregivers can use to more fully explore these concepts (including some prompts on self-compassion, which I really liked!).
