About the Author

Katie Leone writes mainstream stories about transsexual andtransgendered characters who face various issues common to people whoidentify themselves outside traditional gender norms. There are commonthemes of acceptance through her works, whether it be acceptance of self or from society around them. In her works Katie Leone seeks to educatethose who are curious about transsexualism, perhaps because they've seen it on television or have been touched by it in life because a loved one or friend has identified themselves as transgender. Ms. Leone tries toescape the common troupes of transgender fiction and does her best toavoid the common trappings of the genre, namely she does not writesolely about the external displays of being transgender (dressing up and acting like the opposite gender as if a person was acting out acharacter in a play) and concentrates on the psychological aspects of aperson dealing with Gender Identity Disorder.

Katie Leone's workis suitable for young adults and would appeal to parents, family, andfriends who are trying to understand why a person is transsexual andwhat exactly does it mean to be transsexual.

Katie Leone was born andraised in New York City. At 15 she attended high school in Dunedin,Florida where she was heavily involved with the church youth group andwrestling team.

She is a Graduate of Cumberland (Tn.) University with a degree in early childhood growth and learning. Currentlyresiding in Tampa, Ms. Leone has worked as a teacher, a minister, a life coach and was on the Board of directors of a local charity. Currentlyshe has dedicated herself to teaching through her writing and iscurrently forming her own ministry to educate the church abouttranssexual needs.
