I am used to watching Ax Men and this Swamp Logging is different by leaps and bounds. As another reviewer said it is very realistic whereas Ax Men seems staged a lot. These are the machines being logged with today and the trials of this crew (Goodson All Terrain Logging) are focused correctly on keeping their various single purpose logging machines operational and in the field. However gnarly and rude the Ax Men are portrayed to be the terrain is much more beautiful than the Corbet Swamp of the SWamp Loggers.

This is definately better than AxMen. The Swamp Loggers are tough people dealing with tough problems and working through them together. I'm a forester and this show is closest to my experience with loggers. There's lots of work to be done in the woods and you're lucky enough if you break even. There is absolutely no time to screw around, in fact, when you're working in the woods screwing around can be deadly.

Really admire the hard working VALUES & CHARACTER Bobby Goodson demonstrates in the conduct of his business. Also appreciate his leadership & genuine concern for his team and his expressed faith in God.

Look forward each night to enjoying several chapters from all 3 seasons. Very sorry that discovery channel has dropped season 4.

Will be sorely missed !!

What the people of 'All Terrain Logging' do is nothing short of remarkable. And the people themselves are equally remarkable. The show gives us the Iffy market conditions and various other pressures and deadlines they have to deal with: Heavy equipment that may break down and kill production... Land owners, Forestry Service, D.O. T. restrictions and bureaucracy, weather, beavers, each other, and SO much more. That's the good. The bad? They do NOT show us what happens to these 'swamps' once they have extracted the valuable timber. How many critters are displaced, what happens to the land, (or water) and how long it takes before it's useful to any wildlife, or even other plant life. We aren't told, or rarely, how long it takes the swamp to recover back to where it was. The most interesting episode for me was, the discovery of an OLD logging operation, equipment abandoned in place. Explaining how it WAS done, a hundred years ago, or just a generation or two ago... THAT was informative. I could see that trees had grown right up through some equipment... a generation or two old. That told me another thing... About (approx) how long it took for the swamp and it's trees to recover back to where they were before 'harvesting'. Unfortunately, I don't hear, like on Ax Men, any talk about replanting. (And not much even on that series) If there was, I missed it... Management (of timber or forest) ought to be as much a part of the show as is: 'How fast a feller-buncher can clear an acre'. We've seen that. Various land types will have various demands and problems, and we do see that as it relates to getting the timber out... I want a little more, though. I know THIS patch won't regrow the same as THAT one will...Read more ›

. . . I could not get motivated to watch this. Swamp People (alligator hunters) was much, much better. I turned off the second episode before it was finished, and I will not be going back to watch this again.
