From the Manufacturer
The way the brewer intended. With vacuum insulated 8/18 stainless steel, your beer stays deliciously cold all day. Our integrated VPR Cap technology provides a carbonation system to keep your beverage brewery fresh, and perfectly carbonated. The uKeg can also be used to force carbonate your own homebrew or other carbonated elixir.
Besides quality, the best part about beer is toasting it. From your refrigerator or tailgate. The dispensing tap lets you easily serve your beer at home or at parties. This makes the uKeg a great way to share your own homebrew or local favorites.
18/8 Stainless Steel. Keeps beer cold all day.
VPR cap automatically maintains carbonation. From zero (off) up to 15 psi. One 8 gram CO2 cartridge lasts for one growler fill.
Easy to pour. Makes you the bartender.

How did you come up with the idea for this product?
A love of good beer, and a desire the make the experience better. We’re beer lovers living in a beer region. Who knows which came first, the love or the beer, but as engineers we recognized the need for a better solution. We decided to focus our skills and efforts on this endeavor.
What makes your product special?
After testing all the available options, we realized nobody had cracked the code on a pressurized growler that works. So we designed the uKeg: It’s easy to use, with an automatic regulator cap and integrated CO2, variable carbonation from zero (off) up to 15 psi, and a dispensing tap so you can easily pour beer without removing the cap. It also has a liquid sight glass, an ergonomic handle, and it’s easy to clean.

I am glad I chose the larger size. I have seen others with the smaller 64oz version and I figured the 128oz was what I needed for home and house gatherings where you don't want to show up empty handed. After follow the cleaning instructions provided on their website, I took it to my local tap house and now I have a fresh gallon of Stout aged in whiskey barrels. Not sharing this one just yet.
To force carbonate, I filled the growler using a bottling wand, then cooled the beer to about 40 degrees F. I then installed the cartridge and cap and opened the valve to full pressure. In a week I had perfectly carbonated amber ale. I then turned the pressure down to about 6 psi. I did have to use a second cartridge after drinking the first couple of pints. This is because force carbonating uses the majority of the first cartridge. If force-carbonating home-brew, I do recommend under-filling so there is more surface area for absorbing CO2. You can also rock the growler on it's side, back and forth, for 2 or 3 minutes to expedite carbonating the home-brew, like with any keg.
After force carbonating, dispensing beer is just like any commercial beer you might fill the growler with. In that case, one cartridge is plenty for dispensing the full volume.
Through all of this I had no leaks, and it held pressure flawlessly over the course of two weeks.
I did get a drip or two every time I dispenses, This is because some beer get caught in the spigot. Just tilt the growler forward after pouring to dispense the captured couple of drops into you glass, or use a bar towel...or both. It's a non-issue for me, as this is an excellent product.
I firstly played with it, experimenting the capabilities of the growler...mainly the duration of CO2 charge. I found that you can get 2 full cycles at a lower pressure setting, and roughly 1.75% on the high setting pushing water out. The Keg comes with two 16-gram cartridges, one of which i used during the first cleaning cycle. One plus, if you need to remove the cap, you can set the regulator to 0 and unscrew, saving th remaining charge and not having to change the cartridge.
At the growler fill, it was at first dicey. APPARENTLY, there are local regulations about the growler size limitations. I was unaware. I would definitely check local laws before purchasing this. I doubled checked my area and it maxes out at 128oz ( or 4L). The filling person almost over-tightened the cap, so be aware of this.
I have been drinking this gallon of beer all evening, and it's been great. Don't have to get up to go tot the fridge, fresh draft pour, no beer everywhere from lip spills. I keep a towel under the spigot just to catch some of the escaping droplets.
Over-all, I like it.
On my first fill and it works perfectly!
Highly recommended for beer connoisseurs.
I called for customer support regrading NO2 and the response was within in hours. Excellent customer support!
