I have been listening to this on my way to work for about 1 week now (20 min a day one way). The book is trying to lead you somewhere, but they never actually get to the point. They are essentially building up to a singular point which is get user feedback early in the design process, and iterate on that, that's it...It's still early in the book, so maybe there is something, but at this point, I'm ready to turn it off.
It helped me a lot in clearing up my confusion over how traditional marketing fits into digital World. It appears like the 4 P's of marketing are still relevant, however In a digital dimension. Product market fit, out of box thinking, delivering right message to right people at right time and making the product self evolutionary in marketing capacity is what growth hacking is about.
